No need to wash again after claying, QD'ing the surface before applying the polish will be enough

Purpose of claying is to remove all the surface contaminants that stick on the paints surface. After washing your car, feel the surface with your fingertips, if its not smooth and you feel a lot of "bumps" then its probobly time to clay the surface.

ah ic..i got it. so what i need now is the materials..hahaha the cleaner wax, is it still recommended if you're going to clay the car or hindi na? or does it work the other way around? if i dont have any clay, just replace procedure no. 2 with cleaner wax and then proceed to polish and then wax?

clay first before applying any polishers/cleaners/waxes. You can skip the claying part if you don't have the time. But claying will give you better results specially on a darker colored car.

when feeling for contaminants, use a plastic sandwich bag. magnifies the touch..

    never hurts to clay...

it's all in the prep IMO in order to get awesome results.

YAY! I just got my waterblade and detailing clay (via Air21) from BigBerts! Thanks BlackMagic!

I also got my California Car Duster from Vice of team rage yesterday! Yipee! :D

BTW, do I need to prep the clay bar (aside from cutting it up) prior to using it? I can't wait to get home!

Congratulations patopig! I'm sure you'll enjoy your first detailing project. Theres really no prepping involve since your claybar is a new stock and is "soft", just cut it to the right size (3 equal parts). Take your time in claying the area, don't apply too much pressure let the claybar do all the work, don't forget to apply enough lubricant. Take some pics of your newly detailed ride if your done
