guys ano pano ba i DIY detail ang stainless? kasi mejo madumi yung bull bar at side step board ko (which is stainless with plastic on the middle) i tried using metal polish na mejo kumintab naman. i want to look for another detailing material na mas magpapakintab pa. safe kaya i-sand? ano ba ang safe i sabay sa pag sand? tubig? o ano?

    Question mga Detailing gurus!

kaka pa 3step ko plang using meg. parang hindi ako satisfied sa outcome.. then ngayon parang wal an yung kintab. anyway hindi nko babalik sa shop na un. iv'e been reading the thread here and parang ang hirap mamili sa dami ng options and ideas on what to do sa detailing.nakakalito pero very helpful...

what i used to do before is kung ano lang meron ung dad ko tapos i'll just use my old 100% cotton shirt to wipe it off. kala ko ok na un before reading this thread..

i want to get more serious or get into details sa detailing. please help me out. ung newbie stage or ung madaling at effective gamitin based on your ecperience

so for now what i want to do is the next step after an unsatisfiying result after the 3 step. what to do to maintain the shine and the to get rid of those eyesore things on the car and scratches too. im planning to this mano mano before using buffing machine.

by the way swerte din pla cause when i read this thread super lapit namin sa simex, tama ba? kamias lang. so i think i'll start off with their tingi stuff.

what should i buy and the steps to maintain the paint of my car.
that include materials and waxes to be used and needed.

    TIA

This is really dependent on the overall health of your paint.

as long as whatever that scratch remover you intend to use is less aggressive than the swirlX (which IMHO is categorically a scratch remover too). remember to use the least aggressive approach.

you might want to review your swirl mark removal method first, as I feel that it's most likely that your previous procedure was the one that induced the holograms(, unless they've always been there...)

Ay! Alam ko yan... nadale na rin ako niyan.

You'll have to "prime" the cloth by wetting it first. I usually wet it thoroughly. Afterwards, pigain mo siya. You'll notice that the cloth now absorbs well. Kaya lang it still leave a bit of moisture on the paint, which quickly dries up.

Although it works.. I don't like using it. I prefer waffle weave MF towels for drying jobs.

Sirs/Madams, gud pm. First time ko sa thread na ito and very interesting and applicable ang mga topics.

Others are saying that using armor-all protectant (for dashboards, etc.) ay di raw maganda dahil nag-kaka molds/amag at lalo lang daw ito nakakaputi ng dashboards, etc. How true is this? Used it before pero di ko napansin (kasi sadyang luma na at faded yung dashboard ko). Planning to use it on my new car (rather than 3M kasi mas mahal) but i'd rather ask your opinions first. Baka meron kayong mas magandang option for new dashboards? I really appreciate your replies.

Pag bagong pintura yung kotse, wag mo munang i-WAX.

Grabe naman tigas nung fingernail na yon to cause a scratch! Sino siya? Si Wolverine? Hehehe.

Kidding aside, first, try to 'feel' the scratch with your fingernail. The goal here is to determine how deep the scratch is. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, then that scratch is already too deep to completely erase. You can only hope to reduce the severity of the scratch to barely visible, but not completely remove it.

Now, get a good scratch remover. I personally prefer Meg's ScratchX. But there are other equally good brands out there.

Second, get a good and clean applicator sponge or cloth.

When treating the scratch, take note of the 'test' you did beforehand. If the test revealed that the scratch is shallow/removable, then go ahead and rub/massage the scratch remover on the scratch until it completely disappears.

If the scratch is too deep, then rub/massage the scratch remover until you've reduced its appearance. But don't over do it because you run the risk of removing too much clearcoat and ruining your paint's finish.

Hehe... I know what you meant. I was only kidding.

Anyway, the scratches caused by scraping off bird droppings and sap are usually very light. Kayang kaya yan ng scratch remover.
Actually.. baka nga overkill yung scratch remover. Malamang cleaner wax, pwede na.
