*EVO: ala naman pong harsh comments. the objective here is to improve the PhUV in a positive and productive way. kumbaga, brother to brother talk.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
Correct, maliit market dito, so yung ships (i.e. "supercat" fast craft) made in Philippines (by foreign-owned firms), ine-export karamihan. Ganun din Mazda and Ford. So, locally-made sila pero foreign-marque pa rin. Anyway, ok na rin and we can start there. Increase lang local content, puede na.
They should have just launched it as a concept vehicle during the press release as they can alter anything that is less than acceptable. peace!![]()
That is flame baiting already and will cost you an infraction.
Why are you guys so defensive about this MVPMAP PHUV? If the MVMAP can't take the heat then they shouldn't have exhibited a half-baked prototype.Originally Posted by safeorigin
EVO made a really good point with his last post that will definitely help the said project.
There is clearly no way any engineer worth his salt, and a businessman worth his trade would see a product like that roll out into the market.
The Ssangyong designs are atrocious, but their build quality is evidently more advanced.
The truth is that there is no alternate charitable description for what appears to obviously be a highschool project gone awry.
The message has to be clearly sent to MPMAV that the whole design principle behind this project is inherently dated and is actually a step towards the immediate and abysmal conclusion of yet another Philippine automotive build initiative.
Relative to the intended scale of this project and its long term viability, would it be less sensible to invest in readily available tool and die technology, i.e. CADCAM, FEA, CNC machinery? And maybe engineering consultants?
One of the foremost manufacturers of vehicle upholstery has an office in Makati if I recall correctly. Couldn't they have troubled to tap them?
Its not about designing something cheap, its about designing something of value.
You actually save more time and money investing in the right things than trying to save money for the wrong reasons using the wrong processes.
What I am trying to say is that there must be a guiding philosophy that must govern this project beyond saying its a Filipino product. This project must be undertaken with at least some thought and zeal for excellence.
Building something mediocre, waiting for people's comments, and later revising it again and again would simply cause public interest to fade. A national vehicle initiative needs positive public interest to keep its credibility alive.
Judging by the contents of this thread, the number of recommended revisions would actually suggest there is a need for a total redesign of this concept.
Wouldn't it be nice to make something so good that even we wouldn't believe it was made in the Philippines?
The expectation for a decent national vehicle isn't in how much it will cost in retail. Any such project would need to be subsidized anyway before it can actually be feasible in the market. That is the realistic expectation.
The paradigm must take engineering, market, business, and emotive considerations into play.
It simply isn't enough that its Pinoy built. It must be built with a level of competitive quality persuasive enough for you or I to support it commercially.
Harshness, honesty, blunt, and even tactless...but if any of these statements are untrue or unneeded, then there's really no future for this project in the first place.
EVO: i was pointing bout the scrapping part. medyo hindi naman siguro maganda ilagay sa philippine history na ibinasura lamang ang magiging ninuno ng mga future PhUV.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
* sir safeorigin.
I beg to disagree, a bad design will always be a bad design. That's why we have protoypes and concepts. But then, having this kind of design being exhibited by the current PHuV isn't acceptable.
I'd rather see it go down the drain than suffer alot in exchange. It's image may be tainted now with full of negative reactions from people but that what makes us improve.
I don't want to have regrets that the future generation will suffer because i failed to criticize the shortcomings of the vehicle, and seeing it as an attempt at least is noble for the philippine industry as such is showing its interest to generate a brand for the country.
Where'd you find this?
Thing is, it would be worse to even encourage this project in its current form.
Should we give it an A for effort? Or are we too afraid to tell MVMAP that their child looked like it fell from the ugly tree, hit every branch along the way, and then buried itself beneath the forest floor to hide?
Can you answer me these questions?
1) Do you think this vehicle would be commercially viable?
2) Do you think this vehicle is the product of sound engineering?
3) Do you think this vehicle is something we should be proud of?
Criticism is a good thing when it stops something this deplorable from progressing. Encouragement only places a moral burden of tacit approval to something fundamentally wrong. You may choose what to do.
Plus....
Reco A: Can the MVPMAP cover up the metal portions in the interior. It gives the rider an impression that he/she is inside a TRUCK or JEEPNEY. Note: Vinyl sheeting is cheap or better yet, put in more elegant PLASTIC PANELS.
Reco B: For SAFETY and driver comfort, please install a better REARVIEW MIRROR with anti-glare glass and night-adjust. Kawawa naman yung driver, masisilawan sa gabi.
Reco C: And for the nth time, please hide those ugly SCREWS. And use PHILIPS type.
Plus....
Replace these primitive (think HENRY FORD) DOORSTOPS with strurdier metal bar types. These flimsy straps and tiny clips will not last 1000 cycles (opening and closing). Sometime in the second year of operation. The doors will swing uncontrollably and can cause an accident.![]()
good job nitpicking on those tiny details, Hein, keep 'em coming. so far most of the comments on this page are pointing to signs of genuine interest in the product- much better than a lukewarm treatment or worse, an uncaring attitude of some.
maybe the true story behind the PHUV is this:
MVPMAP: Madam President we are lobbying for tax exemptions or lower tax duties for imported car parts.
Madam Prez: that's impossible. how will you differentiate yourselves from CAMPI?
MVPMAP: we'll build an all-Filipino vehicle.
Madam Prez: that's a good idea. ok build me one and let's show the world that the Filipino can. and I'll grant your wish ...
====
then came the Market Market Launch
MVPMAP: Ma'm we're proud to present the first all-Filipino PHUV!!
Madam Prez: duh!
Adviser to the Prez: no choice na tayo ma'm. your speech is already prepared for the launch on Filipino ingenuity and all that sariling atin / nationalism talk. andyan na ang crowd
Madam Prez: ok but please get me outta here as soon as I'm finished.
joks lang po katuwaan lang hehehe.
dami na fans si hein.
hein...do you have some more unpublished photos of failure points? im very interested to know how the doors were made. what about the rear doors? ano kaya problema doon?

Mga bossing, IMO wala naman masyadong malisya mga post ni hein. Marami nga valid e... think of him as your most demanding customer...
Daming reklamo nga, sya pa rin ang nagpapakain sayo... never forget that.![]()
Guys,
MESSAGE RE MVPMAP PHUV (BOTH POSITIVE & NEGATIVE) HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT TO MVPMAP LOUD AND CLEAR.
There is simply no reason to sound like a broken record. Get on with your lives. If you don't have any, well, think of something. FYI, trying to be a Simon Cowell-wannabe with lame, amateurish comments is not a life.
