Replacing CFC Aircons with HFC-134A [Merged]

Prepare around 2-3k. When I had my aircon converted they just dismantled the whole system, blew out the old oil from the lines, cleaned the compressor and evaporator, replaced it with R134 oil, and put it back together again. Since you'll be opening virtually all the parts of your aircon system set aside some money to replace what needs to be replaced like bearings, seals, valves, switches and such.

FYI lang po... dalawang klase pala ang r134a, isang china daw at isang us brand. Yung china brand daw eh me halo na r-12. They costs 300 for a kilo of china and 500 of the US brand. Pure R134a ang US.

A was inquiring about the convertion of r12- r134a at a refrigiration supply store. they told me that the compressor needs to be replaced. R134a will work on a R12 compressor, but it will shorten the life of the compressor.

not necessarily, my maxima was done for 1/2 day, for 2,500 pesos. total general flush (pull down compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve), replace drier/reciever... palit 134a oil, freon, then viola, 134a na!

papalit ka lang naman ng compressor kung mahina/ sira na para minimize cost...ngayon i'm happy, balewala na ang hot afternoon, but evaporator totaly freezes on cold nights especially noong nag-longdrive ako...iba talaga ang nissan-calsonic!

You can try checking your Civic's engine bay. There is usually some markings either under the hood or near the front grill that IDs the original system's refrigerant as either R-12 or R134a.

sa mga peeps na may tsikot na year 1999 below: nakapag register na ba kayo? i mean, talaga bang ini-implement na ng LTO ito re: kailangan pang mag-convert sa R-134A bago ma-rehistro yung sasakyan? curious lang kase magpa-register ako nung sasakyan this August. TIA.
