OTEP::: The drier thingie is located under the hood. Eto yung may maliit na glass window to check if freon are enough for your system. Kadalsan pinapalitan daw ito after 2 annual aircon check or 2 times cooling coils replacement. Dito daw naiipon yung mga dumi nakasama sa freon.

    Ungas,

Kalokohan yata yun ha. Ewan ko lang. Hindi kasi service item ang drier, eh. Paano dudumi ang freon? Closed system iyon. Unless nacocontaminate dahils sa 'preventive' aircon cleaning thingie or nagleak ang system and contaminants found their way in (which is remote since pinhole size lang namang ang butas ng a/c system kadalasan).

I don't know much about these aircon stuffs. But I notice there are many driers replaced in every aircon shops around. Isa rin daw ito sa mga culprits pag hindi lumalamig ang aircon. :D

Yup! I agree with that stand. Lalo lang magdoble doble yung gastos in the end after summing up all the expenses.

Drier prices depends on what make & type of vehicle and freon used. Usually sa car prices much lower and mas maliit and drier, single aircon unit lang kasi. Yung sa akin mas malaki yung size ng drier used for dual aircons.

One thing I know is that the cooling coils for Pajero are extremely expensive. Imagine a 12-15K for those laminated cooling coils which has better cooling effect than normal ones. 8O

cleaning of the a/c system should be done periodically but not necessarily every year.at least pag mahina na yung buga ng blower; meaning madumi na yung cooling coil. the dirt and debris in the cooling coil lessens the aircon's efficiency to cool down the car, plus it corrodes the metal fins of the coil kaya nagkakaroon ng leaks. unlike sa mga bagong cars na may built in filter na yung aircon nila.

    ungas,

hindi ba ni-leak test yung evaporator mo habang nililinis?

    Ungas,

Aling coils? Yung nasa ilalim ng dash? Japeyks ang binili ko, eh.

Sorry nga pala kung mainit kanina, ha. My condenser fan is still not running. Pero kapag ok na yun, malamig na siya ulit.
