    Fellow Tsikoteers,
May Civic ako 2000 model. Here's the problem 5 months ago tumataas ang temp ng car so i had it check sabi Radiator needs to be overhaul,so i had it overhauled so after a week bumalik sa dating sakit, when the other mechanic pina check ko Thermostat daw sira na so i had it replace OEM.Sira nga naman medyo napa bilib ako.ngayon naman tumataas na naman ang Temp ng car. i dont see any leaks whatsoever sa mga radiators, hoses, waterpump etc.eto pa ang weird bat pag gabi lang tumataas when i think di na gaano mainit non.so i turn of the air con medyo bababa pero babalik din sa dating mataas na temp.Guys What do you think is Wrong.Sa umaga okay naman pag gabi lang.Pls HELP!
    THANKS SA LAHAT,Godbless

nagaagawan ng koryente pag gabi - sindi ang ilaw kasi...so the fan is not getting enough juice...unlike sa umaga na solo ng fan ang current. tapos the a/c fan aids it pag naka-on ito sa gabi....

question is 2 ba ang fan niyan - one for a/c and another one the normal fan?

Aux fan po yan since nagooverheat sya pag nakabukas aircon.

had the same problem before. replace all the ground wires of the car and clean off the surfaces na pinaglalagyan. mali lang signal pinapadala nyan sa gauge mo.

You can even do it yourself. Just pop the hood and engage the aircon. Pero since the mechanics you've been to has seen your car, hindi siguro fan ang problema. They would have diagnosed the problem easily.

Pero pag city driving nman at nagbu-burst speed (100-120) ako like sa edsa or C5, totally walang problema nman related to overheating.

What could be the problem or culprit that causes the problem??

Start first by having your radiator flushed and cleaned then checking your aux fan operation and thermostat; a stuck thermostat could mean water/coolant flow isn't sufficient when you're running at higher rpms.

Thank you for the advise vinj. When you say have it cleaned, does it mean i got to have it "overhauled"?

a thermostat that fails to open ("stuck in the closed position") will overheat the engine no matter what the engine speed is....

a missing thermostat (i.e. removed) will overheat the engine on low speed runs (traffic) and overcool on open highway runs....

symptom is overheating at open highway and prolonged high engine speeds......

if all of the items stated by sir vinj checks out okay, check your belt, belt tension, water pump, and then your hoses especially the lower one.....usually, the upper hose is the first to go. check them both anyway.

experienced the same problem and it turned out that the lower hose is collapsing at high engine speeds because it (hose) was soft.

water pump creates partial vacuum at the suction side (lower hose).
