yeah should be ok naman. i like using coolant more for it's anti rust properties more than the cooling effect naman.

try mo nalang dumaan bro whenever you're in the area

May be Off Topic pero related to heating questions: I use water and not commercial coolants. Is this okay? I make it a point to check the water level before turning the engine on kaya so far, wala pa naman akong naging problema. What is the advantage of coolant over water? Medyo daming gastos kasi sa kotse lately kaya I try to save on the "small" expenses that add up big. Thanks in advance for your inputs!

    Amihan,

Coolant provides anti-rust protection, increases the boiling point of water and lubricates your water pump. As Speedyfix said, any coolant should work. Its normally dilluted to a 50/50 water coolant ratio.

If you choose to use water, use distilled drinking water. Dont use tap or mineral water. These contain minerals that will cause scaling and rust.

Thanks, Userfriendly. Yikes, I've been using ordinary tap water! Salamat sa explanation, mabuhay ka.

Is it true that coolant water weakens radiatore further?

If kaya ng budget mo, 50:50 ratio is the best. Kahit anong coolant dyan will do but I reco the Caltex extended life coolant, 5 years bago ka magpalit eh.
