Yup she's my friend , she lives in Sta. Ana. Told her to go there because the casa was going to charge her P21K to replace the cooling coil, 2 expansion valve, reciever drier and labor. But she was able to tawad to P15K all i all without receipt. But still to expensive. Kay Mang Mario P6,500 cooling coil at freon lang and kailangan. Talagang happy sila ngayon 3 linggo walang aircon sila. KUDOS to Mang Mario

Ohh. that's good news to your friend. She seem very nice. She has this MALACANANG ID. since naghahatid daw sya sa St. Jude.

Anyway, in my case, di successful ang trabaho ni MM. This is my car's 3rd day there and still, di pa rin magawa ng mabuti.

hi edl100! how's your opel aircon?naging problem ba yung conversion or something wrong/defective lang with the parts installed? update ka naman sa opel forum natin if its okay with you. im sure many opel owners would like to know if okay talaga i-convert na lang ang compressor to a much cheaper brand kasi sobrang mahal original/replacement compressor opel.

    Hi guguly.

Ok I'll post it there on our long OPEL Club thread.

BTW. Got the car already. It turns out, kulang lang pala sa freon since the valve where you place the freon hoses has a leak. It was fixed already.

It has a transplanted compressor since the OEM Denso brand cost P28,000. The conversion cost me a total of P7,700 including:

    1) SURPLUS COMPRESSOR (DENSO)
    2) Conversion bracket
    3) OEM Brand new drier (BEHR)
    4) OEM Brand new expansion valve (BEHR)
    5) Freon charge
    6) Fittings etc....
    7) rear aircon cleaning

The only thing they did not do is to clean the evaporator since I do not want them to remove the entire dashboard. It is too messy and they might mess the electronics of the car.

OTEP: Does a car consume more gasoline if the dual aircon is used? Or if you turn on the aircon at a stronger speed??

I have the notion that I have to use the aircon at lowest setting (1) and never to turn on the rear aircon as to save gas...

    What do you think?

    Thanks

I hope so. Thanks. Its only been a day and I hope the compressor last.

MM is quite familiar with almost all cars including OPELS so that is good news to me. but this is the first time he handled a ZAFIRA which has an entirely different system with a Vectra or an Astra.

I just turn them both on (setting 1 lang sa likod) to allow lubricant circulation in both systems. Kung sa consumption, malamang hindi naman ganun ka-significant since they drive off one compressor. And considering the weather now, halos hindi din naman nag-au-automatic ang compressor.

Gamitin mo muna ng gamitin yung Zafira. 6 mos. ang usual warranty ni MM. Just keep your receipt. Para matesting. Yung sakin sobrang lamig na. I used to have the bad habit of turning the ac on-off-on-off to control cabin temp. Now, I just close the vents. Baka mapagastos na naman, eh.

    Thanks.

I am trying ways kasi to save gas since the Zafira has this ECO-TEC engine re-circulating emissions gas system na kung mainit ang panahon, malakas sya sa gas. Hot exhaust fumes are put back inside the combustion chamber para i burn ng engine and spark plugs!! Yun lang nga, ZERO emissions yung car and EURO 4 Compliant at the expense of a higher gas consumption.

2yrs pa lang ang evaporator na yun tapos butas na agad. so no choice. bili ng bagong evaporator for 6.5k. tapos nun, after a day lang, wala nanaman lamig. parang hilaw yung lamig pero talagang mainit. so balik nanaman kami.

Hindi na ako bumalik sa kanila since that first job they did on my car which they botched.

I was just dissapointed with the results, considering all the good feedbacks I heard.

Well anyway, for what it's worth, di ka nag iisa Sirkosero, and I'm pretty sure, hindi lang tayong dalawa ang may "not good" experience kay Mang Mario.

Sorry to hear about your A/C problem.

sa denso center, P12K basic labor/servicing. wala pa yata cost ng parts dyan. complete system troubleshooting daw yan (dunno coz I haven't tried yet and I don't have that much extra money to spend). luma na ba a/c mo pre? considering na gumastos ka na rin lang... dalhin mo na lang sa service center ng a/c brand mo. di talga perfect kila mang mar. pag basic defects lang like butas evaporator or hose... pwede na dun. mura naman eh. sa ibang shops ... for the same service, P2500 agad singil nila for evaporator cleaning + freon recharge. kay mang mar, P800 to 1000 lang. anyway, just giving you some figures for comparison.

Another satisfied Mario Reyes client here. As cool as new na ulit ang aircon ko. Considering na hindi pa nalilinis yung car aircon mula nung mabili almost two years ago, hindi pa naman daw masyadong madumi sabi ni Mang Mario.

Me: Dami niyo nang referral ah.
Mang Mario: Saan ka ba? Mymitsu?
    Me: Sa tsikot po.
Mang Mario: Ah, yung kay OTEP... [sabay kwento na tungkol kay Doc. ]

And contrary to what I thought, hindi naman pala ganun katagal. Mga 8:30am ako dumating kina Mang Mario, and I was still able to report for work after lunch.

A slight caveat syempre, not everyone is going to be satisfied. If the aircon unit needs thorough servicing, mukhang mas advisable na dalhin na sa professional service center.

To add to SIRKOSERO and ARTPOGI:

I AM ALSO NOT SATISFIED NOW!!

I take back what good things I said before. This is my 4th visit there since Friday for another backjob!!

Nawala na naman ang lamig since I saw a leaking metal tube and amoy freon ang engine bay bec. of this. SAWA na akong bumalik doon. As if madali magpunta doon with all those tricycles and no parking spaces. I even wake up very early so that makaabot ako ng 8:00AM.

They are not actually very PULIDO mag trabaho. They just rush things since madaming customers. What happens is that madaming back jobs...

They should have tested all tubes and hoses for leaks THOROUGHLY before saying the car is OK.. Also, they broke the end fittings of the car and LOST the original COVERS of the end valve fittings.

They do not know that PEOPLE have jobs and that our time is precious. We cannot just go there anytime.

P.S. If you own a Taxi, FX or an owner jeep with aircon, MM is the best place to be.
He actually messed up my (pristine) engine bay, broke and lost my OEM fittings, and installed ugly old hoses to ruin the engine bay.

mukhang weder-weder lang talga. nung first visit ko kasi kila mang mar... ok naman, pulido work. yung anak kasi ni mang mar yung isa sa mga dumiskarte. meron silang isa pang technician dun ma mahusay, yung iba (except for mang mar's sons), medyo dehins mahusay. anyways, isa lang sagot dyan...lipat na lang kayo sa mas mahal. ang tip ko dun sa mga babalik for backjobs, help in the troubleshooting, inform yourself on the inner workings of the a/c system, para sa ganun, matulungan mo silang dumiskarte at pag napansin nilang may alam ka, medyo mag-iingat sila. daanin nyo shempre sa diplomasya kahit medyo dissatisfied ka na. no use kung daanin mo sa init ng ulo.

kundi pa rin ma solve problema... or ayaw nyo na bumalik at mamroblema... go the experts and be ready to shell out a larger amount of money. ;)

I agree. Hindi nga mahusay yung ibang technicians doon. I am not sure who the son of mang mar is, but the technician na na-assign sa akin, di talaga masyadong pulido magtrabaho. malas ko lang.

Just today, 3X akong bumalik doon for a back job. Makulit talaga. I told them that the reading should be at least 50psi. He put in 40 and said that was ok. But when you go inside the car, ang lakas ng hissing sound-- which means lack of freon and that mainit pa din ang Aircon. I told him and he said di daw nya marinig ang hissing sound and parang maselan lang daw ako since malamig na daw

SO nagsumbong na ako kay MM and told him na pakinggan yung car. Aminado si MM na may Hisssing sound sa loob. he instructed to put in more freon. So umabot na din sa 50 and of course, nawala na ang hisssing sound and lumamig na din ang Aircon to normal.

Also, this same technician diagnosed the leaks and said it was 100% OK. But ng umuwi ako. I personally did the leak and water test and found a large leak right in front of me!! So balik na naman ako. They replaced those aluminum tube fittings that was causing the leaks.

Si MANG MARIO kasi, he doesn't personally do the jobs anymore. What he does is just to clean evaporators and diagnose some problems his boys cannot handle.

I am actually very willing to go to another competent aircon shop.

    been following this thread

am also in the midst of having a complete aircon system overhaul

i've been to my own "mang marios"

really a hit and miss affair

sadly my "mang marrios" are also letting their kids/proteges handle day to day operations hence the hit & miss

chances of getting best value for money these days will mean you may have to pay an arm and a leg

you pay for their expertise and peace of mind you won't have to second guess or keep looking over their shoulders

sugal talaga nasa sayo kung saan kang sugal mas may diskarte

as for me talagang kailangan palitan ng bago

dre, yep. alam ko yan. i referred my brother to mang mario's place kasi when i had my AC repaired, mang mario and the gang did an excellent job at a very low cost. so i referred my brother over. my brother was insistent to have it done in shops near our place for backjobs that give competitive rates. but with the good experience i've had, i referred my brother. too bad lahat ng kamalasan inabot namin sa kotse na yun dahil sa aircon.

    edl100,

He is the one who did mine!! bwisit yon.

Tapos ang lakas ng hissing sound then he said wala naman daw. Maselan daw ako.
