johnart,
Baka combination ng off-road contamination and high-speed engagement/disengagement. hehehe. Dalawang clutch na kasi naprito ko. Swak na swak pa nasunog nung pinaandar ko a/c while running at 150kph.

Good to have read this thread. Yun din actually sinabi sa akin ng isang German mechanic, and 18k daw gagastusin to have it replaced including the dryer. Tanong ko nga kay mang mario kung magkano sa kanila, mga 5 minutes away lang naman sila samin. Alangan lang ako sa pag tagal ng dashboard e.

guys,
i have been reading this thread for a long time. don't want to comment before but
here is my thing:
i knew him way back since the early 90's. he was still fat. same old place. i had my lancer fixed by his crew. spent a small amount and job was fine. just the usual hand prints on the dash and door.
few years later, brought my fx to him. i had to convert the aircon lines and electrical because i had the stock 5K engine swapped to a super 4AGE. he promised me that the job will be done around 4pm. it ended 7pm.
being so understanding, it was ok for me to wait. paid him and went on my way.
6 days later, the aircon didn't work so i had to bring it back to him.
the culprit: burnt relay. so i asked him to replace it including the socket since they were the one who installed it. so they did. but to my surprise, they charged me 750.00 for 1 bosch relay, cheap socket, tape and maybe a meter of wire.
i asked him why should i pay since they were the one who supplied the parts and they were the one who installed it. he said there was a problem with my electrical system. i said your nuts! if there was a problem with my electrical system, the fuse should have blown and the relay destroyed hours after. not days!
he was very insistent but unfortunately, i had no money that day because i assumed that it was a backjob. i said i will return next time for the payment.
since then, i did not pay him and never went back.
i had the aircon electrical checked by ichiban banawe. atong said that the wirings are messed up that's why the relay got burned!
had to shell out a few hundred bucks for that.
by the way, ichiban was the one who did the whole ECU electrical for the 4AGE.
i have heard many good and bad stories about mario reyes. in fact, if we meet, he still knows me.
its up to you guys. maybe their system has changed. that's good.
but for me, i am never ever going to have my aircon fixed by him.
peace...

January 28th, 2006 12:14 PM #286Good or bad, each one of us has our own story to tell about mang mario. In my case I have a good one.. ganda ng aircon ko ngayon. lamig.. and the best part ang mura pa ng ginastos ko.
Kahit anong shop naman eh.. me maririnig kang d maganda. Gaya ko when my aircon broke down. I went to different shops, got advice from my friends, browse different forums, etc. Pero why did I go to mang mario?? kasi mas maraming good feedback sa kanya kesa sa ibang shop.. d sa lang mura.. ok pa ang gawa..
so naisip ko lang kung makikipag sapalaran rin naman ako sa pag papgawa ng aircon ko e piliin ko na yung shop na me mas maraming magagandang feedback from customer....
ako I highly recommend mang mario..
peace ..

as for me, honesty is still the best policy when it comes to a service oriented business. and this is where mang mario comes in on top of everyone else. based on my experience, he will be the one to recommend to you what to do best so as to save money as much as possible. hindi ka nya "peperahan" in other words. people like him are hard to find these days where money is scarce. yes, there will always be bad experiences with him same as every other aircon repair shop out there. heck nobody's perfect right? what's important is he tells you the problem and how to solve it without drilling holes in your pocket. and that, for me, is the best service anyone can give. just my .02

Potek, mas malalala at mas mahal pa! Kunwari pang they care for your car, etc. eh halos buong a/c ng Pajero ko gusto palitan (switch na lang ata matitira).
Kaya balik Mario na ko. Down to earth, honest to goodness and inexpensive. Kapag medyo hindi na niya talaga kakayanin (compressor repair lang sana pero pagbukas sira pala yung compressor shaft), tatapatin ka niya and will give you your options.
