RIKE COOL tint (ala v-kool)

yup, any news sa mga naka rike cool... kamusta naman heat rejection? mas ok ba siya kesa sa ibang tint? mas gusto ko kasi ngayon ung parang clear at siyempre maganda rin heat rejection. papalitan na kasi ung tint ng kotse. kaya hanap ako ng maganda, hindi ko pa kaya ng v-kool eh. hehehe.

It's been several months since we had Rike Cool installed.
The front clears still have the rainbow effect, although it does not bother me as much. Maybe because we do not travel at night that much, and maybe we just got used to it.

Recently, we had another car tinted with SolarGuard Super Dark on the windows only. OK naman so far. We would have wanted Rike Cool sana but out of stock..

We discovered though that Rike Cool is only clear tint from this second installer. What is surprising is that the first car tinted with Rike Cool has clear on the front, medium dark on the windows and super dark on the rear.

I wonder if someone can confirm if Rike Cool really has 3 shades. If it is only clear, na dupe ba kami on the first car? I wonder what they installed?

2nd car on an e36 325i windows only, super dark SolarGuard P1,400 at Auto Centro near Ali Mall Cubao, forgot the name of the store (did not issue receipt). only 2 stores there installing tint (not sun-x). quoted P1,300 for rear windshield but did not have the time to wait any longer (they say 2.5 hours)

Find it too dark for windows compared to Rike Cool "medium dark", if ever that exists.

Backgrounder:
Rike Cool (clear) Tint was installed April '06 on my 3dr Paj. It was recommended to me by LA Car Accessories owner Amrit, nice guy naman. He said it was just 4% less compared to V-Kool's heat reduction specs. Two weeks later yata when I came back (but we talked on the phone days before) for three reasons. One, may dust particle between the tint and glass sa right front window -di napansin taga-tint. Two, may nakikita kami parang may prism effect sa "pinaghaguran" ng tint sa windshield -at a certain angle lang. Three, I was worried and not satisfied sa "heat reduction" capabilities based on supposed 4% difference lang with V-Kool. Kasi based on recommendation, if 94% heat reduction properties ng V-Kool, e di dapat 90% ang Rike Cool -right? Hindi e, from experience, around 30% lang ang heat reduction. On the first issue he had his technician replace the window tint -great! But, not after I had a heated argument with the technician kasi he claimed ganon daw talaga salamin ng nga "subic" -OK NO?! Second issue he said curing time will take care of it. Anyways, because of that and my concerns, Amrit gave me a "special" price on his recommended second layer of tint (solar/sun) at P2300 because pricing he said was his department -but the tint needed about 4 weeks of curing pa daw before 2nd layer can be installed properly. E after the 4wks off-on rain na and my schedule was busy na din. But we txt naman and he said just come by "anytime."

Last Nov 11 (Sat) I finally found time and weather was GREAT so I was there past 10am. Unfortunately, he said the 2nd layer tint would cost me P3900 na! So I reminded him of the story above and he said that P2300 was the special price before After a long talk he can only bring it down to P3700. Sige, isip ko baka naman I misinterpreted the "come by anytime" text.

That evening, I texted him and I said I was really shocked of the price pa rin considering the circumstances, and that I will wait for him to come back from overseas trip (last weekend) so we can discuss it further. Kasi he said we should do the 2nd layer asap as he was going on a trip nga and the "special" price of P3700 is only when he is there lang .

After a week of thinking it over, I feel I should claim warranty on Rike Cool tint because it did not perform as expected. One more thing that bothered me was the fact that he said (that Sat din) sa kanya nga daw 3layers ang Rike ng Honda nya -gulat ko! But then he said it was because he was after that "brownish" effect(?)..

Now, I feel I should claim warranty talaga. I think I have been "nice" and "gentleman" enough to agree pa nga on the 2nd layer of tint at P2300 before -di ba?

I will formally write him a warranty claim (talk done na) but I need other opinion sana. Amrit is nice naman but at the end of the day, my P7000 investment for Rike Cool should be worth it. Tulong please

I did around Feb/Mar Pero la pa ko nakita major issue nun, and I did PM somebody then but don't remember getting reply unfortunately.

Sa mga nabasa ko kahapon, around April pala naglabasan daming comments e. Just my luck, careful spender pa naman ako. But when I went to LA Car Accessories and mentioned to Amrit (owner) the rumor about 3 mbcp (yata) members who claimed warranty, he said it was some sort of miscommunication and if I remember correctly their tints were replaced after they produced the ORs. So, with that info, I proceeded

Having read this thread, I feel that LA cars is exaggerating on the performance of Rike cool just to get customers to get it. Claim your warranty sir.. you deserve it..

Di ba may separate thread regarding LA cars ripping off customers.. I think we should stay away from this store.. dami namang ibang alternative eh.

ganyan talaga si amrit, mukha talagang mabait dahil magaling nga magsalita e (o mang-uto).
di mo malaman kung san san niya nahuhugot yung mga excuses na binibigay nya sa customer's.
at ang nakakamangha dun very smooth ang delivery ng mga pagdadahilan niya, parang nagpractice hehe

pati mga tao nya ganun din, puro excuses, mga incompetent.
sabi nga sakin natural lang daw na magkabula at hindi raw maiwasan yun.
e ano yung pinagmamalaki ni amrit na dust free at air-purified na TINT ROOM niya ( note: air-purified, not just airconditioned, si amrit ang naglinaw sakin nyan. better daw ang air purifier dahil pinababa niya ang particles sa air unlike aircon na umaasa lang sa filter)
ang tanong e asan yung air purifier na yan habang iniinstallan ng tint yung kotse ko, WALA
ang gumagana lang e yung aircon na ino-on lang kapag may nainitan sa mga tao sa TINT ROOM, sabay iniiwang bukas yung pinto dahil hindi magkasya yung isa pang sasakyan. dust free huh...

at pag di nila magawa ng maayos yung pag-iinstall, yung kotse mo ang sisihin.
kesyo masyado daw curved yung window ko kaya ayaw lumapat nung tint.
sa huli nailapat din nila kaso puro gasgas na yung tint ko kakahagod nila.

marami pang kabulukan sa LA cars ang gusto ko ikwento.
gusto ko sana yung mas detailed, kaso masyado na hahaba to

kaya payo ko lang na iwasan na lang yang shop na yan
nasasainyo if you want to learn thru experience hehe, at your own risk.

Ayan na, naglalabasan na ang mga negative comments. Just 2 or 3 weeks ago, may iilan na din akong nabasang negative about sa LA Cars sa GT. More on tint din ang prob. Another Scrubby Coat?

papa tint nga sana ako dito kay LA Cars last summer. kaso ang labo kausap.
una promo price yung bingay niya, kinausap ko naman si amrit para antayin lang ako ng ilang araw dahil nga out of town ako nun, pumayag naman siya. then nung nag text na ko to notify na pupunta na ko, aba biglang tumaas yung price. naka limutan ata yung deal naman na promo price. lumampas lang ng ilang araw after ng katapusan (summer ata) nagkalimutan na..
post ako sa kac, bakit ganun. sabi niya promo price pa rin naman daw ung binigay niya.
ginawa ko, pinagtiyagaan ko na lang yung tint ko. may punit na kasi yung sa driver side kaya ako magpapatint ulit.sayang din ung profit na sana makukuha niya sa mga customer na tulad ko...

GUYS: LET US FORMALIZE OUR COMPLAINTS! I want to make sure this does not happen to anyone else. Amrit has not yet replied. I already talked to the persons above and their advise was not to pay anymore and go for warranty since the item did not perform as expected based on Amrit's recommendation.
