Same concept sa hotels and airfare. Off peak Mas mababa price then during peak season mataas. It's accepted since law of supply and demand.

Nobody is forcing anyone to take TNVS pag peak, pwede sa Regular taxi rin sumakay but wait hinde pala sila nagsasakay pag peak din kung walang dagdag na bayad.

Not a fan of their surge charges as well.. but i still prefer that people have options: taxi vs. Uber/Grab

basically same thing lang naman sa regular taxi iyan na bribabraso ka na pumayag sa pangongontrata or a.k.a. dagdagan-mo-bayad-mo-dahil-hindi-ko-gagamitin-metro-ko modus minus the simangot and grumblings of the driver

at least sa mga tnvs you know what you're getting into so no need to haggle, get frazzled and then feel bad about it

    i know.
it may be un-illegal, but it is "morally in-correct".

last week, wifey tried ubering from pasig. surged price na (a shade less than 500-ish), wala pa!
at the quoted price, i was tempted to drive there and pick her up myself. alas, i was neck-deep in work...

Pyesta Grab, they can dictate the price now. Happy mga drivers, halos lahat naman yata ng uber driver, grab din. Malas yung uber lang.

Anlabo ah. MMDA/HPG will apprehend Uber drivers, pero pwede daw pakiusapan kung me emergency.

    Anong klaseng "pakiusap" kaya yan?

imho, i don't see how Uber can go on without a legal franchise. Kahit anong tapang nya, yung mga drivers ang kawawa pag hinuli. If there's no legal basis for its existence, ano pa ang habol ng mga Uber drivers? And if there are no drivers, there will be no Uber. Si Grab ang panalo.

This boils down kung sino ang head ng ltfrb nung nag hit ang uber. They didnt act on it and now playing catch up.

Worse is that due to their incompetence in the past (not just ltfrb), many are labeling them as anti progress.

Kung nagtratrabaho lang kasi ng matino, wala sigurong ganito.

Exactly the point, what are they violating eh wala pa ngang Legal basis sila?

Pinapasok sila ng LTFRB sa rules and regulations ng regular taxi eh hinds nga sila taxi.

But why is peak-off peak prices in hotels and airfares generally accepted and not in TNVS?

Again I believed in supply and demand economics.
