for an hour's trip (60 minutes), that'd be an extra 120 pesos to fork over.

if taxicabs had the same privilege, the incidents of aggressive charging will probably decline significantly.

investors keep pumping money into ride-hailing startups

Indonesia's GOJEK adds Visa to growing list of Series F investors
Indonesia’s GOJEK on Wednesday announced that global payment technology provider Visa is the latest investor to back its ongoing Series F funding round. It did not disclose how much it raised from the American firm or its round total so far. According to a statement, the deal will see both companies working together in the area of cashless payments for consumers across Southeast Asia. Visa will collaborate with GOJEK’s e-wallet GOPAY, which claims to be the payments market leader in Southeast Asia’s largest market, Indonesia.

as I've mention more than a million times in social media, forums and face to face chat.

    di baleng mahal basta meron

in Singapore, price surge can go upto 5X - this ensures na drivers stay on the road

remember when Grab was still called GrabTaxi and you were asked for a tip before booking a ride? dagdagan mo ng 500-1K yung ride and 100% may Taxi na dadating.

now, mahal na nga, wala pang cars available.

I would rather pay extra just to ensure na may available ride ako. if its too expensive for me... di na lang ako lalabas

i have long wondered, why they have to practice surge pricing.
so what if the demand is great? does that contribute to increased maintenance, labor, and other recurring expenses, that are not offset by increased gross income?

Standard na yata sa taxi na dapat alam nila kung saan ka punta bago magsakay. Dapat mag allow na lang ng premium taxi service ang LTFRB. Grab/Uber not only improve on the services of taxi but also solves the problem of parking. Nowadays pag mag call sa client, grab na lang kesa mamoblema pa sa parking.
