Nakalagay naman sa user manual ng A/T car yung proper way of flat towing. Maximum 50km yan, not 15km.
Emergency Towing / Flat Towing
In case of a roadside emergency with a disabled vehicle (without access to wheel dollies, car hauling trailer, or flatbed transport vehicle) your vehicle (regardless of transmission powertrain configuration) can be flat towed (all wheels on the ground) under the following conditions:
- Vehicle is facing forward so that it is being towed in a forward direction.
- Place the transmission in N (Neutral)
- Maximum speed is not to exceed 50 km/h
- Maximum distance is 50 km
- Put the key in "ACC" (engine off) or "ON" (engine running)

Nakita ko po recently sa FB page ng top gear yung nangyari sa isang fortuner, na bumangga sa 7-11,
2 possible reasons lang po ang nakikita ko.
1. Newbie Driver
2. Lack of awareness, (distraction dahil may kausap sa CP [Common]) at nakalimutan ilagay sa "N" or sa "P"
Since gate-type shift po ang fortuner, (nakapag-drive na rin po ako) kahit hindi fully depressed sa brake pedal, From D, papasok sa N going to P,
Kaya maging aware at vigilant po tayong lahat all the times... AT man or MT,
Hopefully, no one is injured from both sides during this kind of accident.

meron.
yung "P" kasi, iikot nang kaunti yung metal gear sa loob ng AT, hanggang "mag-shoot in" sa butas yung pantusok (anubanaman kasi itong tagalog... so cumbersome to use when describing technical details!) para hindi na umikit... with wear and tear, tolerances increase and this movement increases also.. just a few inches..
in most handbrakes, it is the brakepads that push against the brake disc or brake drum, and no movement is allowed whatsoever..
btw, the "P" is a safety feature and is not designed to replace the handbrake. it is also easy to destroy that "P"... as in, kapag nabangga (or so it is written)..
noob question again,
Pag R (reverse) ba, and you release the break it will move already slightly like in D? or sa D lang yun?
We used to have a joke when we were in High School:
P for Power
R for Race
N for Nitro
D for Destroy

what's the use of "N" ?
it's what you are in, when the engine is runnin' but you ain't goin' Nowhere..
N is for neutral no gear is engage its free wheeling, pag hinila ka put it on neutral AT or manual tranny. kung gusto ma pakamutin ung gulong mo sa harap if front wheel drive or rear wheel drive put it on N (Neutral) and rev it high then put it on drive quickly you will notice kakamot yung gulong mo. na-try ko na yan sa isuzu crosswind matic napakamot ko ng sligtly sa Starex crdi also tried kumamot din. hehe! hindi ko na unulit kasi nakakasunog ng ATF oil.
guys. noobie here pag dating sa cars. ask ko lang. kelangan ba mag shift sa "L" or "2" pag mejo matarik un dinadaanan mo? TIA
Going up...its not necessary. Going down and with worn brake pads and or the route is extremely steep and winding, it helps.
I drove a Camry down a extra long and steep mountain...brake pedal had zero pressure at the bottom of the mountain. Colleague had the same issue with his Camry on the same mountain. Even if Camrys' are mide size sedans. They dont have heavy duty brakes.
The route was 10km of zigzag downhill menace.
If you're concern is baguio or benguet areas....it might help.
i see. thank you sir stockE.i dont have plans yet of going to baguio. tagaytay palang muna. hehe naisip ko lang na baka mapudpud nga un break pad pag ganun lagi naka break. and if i may ask sir. whats the difference btw the 2. is that what you call engine break?
thanks.
