are the mtf's sold outside the casa ok? is it true that these are only engine oils remarketed/repackaged? how many liters do you need when replacing mtf's? enlighten me :please:

No gear oils aren't repackaged engine oils, they have different formulation. Check the manual for the type and amount.

best is to check your owners manual. But I've been using Redline MT90 on my Lancer 97 GLXi and so far very good naman.

Pricey nga lang ang Redline MT90

I just use the transaxle/gear oil they sell at gas stations. Most of them to meet and exceed manufacturer's recommendations Still best to consult your manual.

Kakapalit ko lang nung may ng manual tranny oil sa Vitara. Also changed the oil in the axles and transfer case.

what car is it for? you'll have to specify coz different cars use different gear oils.

i read the owner's manual sometime ago and it states that you can use motor oil albeit on a temporary basis, i think. i'm thinking of using the castrol mtf w/c i saw in ace hardware. the problem is i don't know how much i should buy and if using that on my car would be adviseable

engine oil lang lalagay dyan kahit tanong mo sa casa. anywhere from 10w40 to 20w50 oil is ok

ako rin, pwede ba yung semi-synthetic motor oils? and pwede po bang DIY yung drain and change ng MTF?

Pwede naman DIY as long as you have a proper way to dispose of the used oil (e.g. donate to your suking gas station, they will sell it to the recycler).

Most transmission oils have a 'nipple' cap to facilitate pouring. At least that's the cap that came with the Quaker State gear oil I bought. You can also use a funnel (lots of el cheapo ones in the wet market).

sure, there's a drain plug then just refill it by removing the speed sensor and filling up through that hole.

Depends on the vehicle. On my old Besta, a change was called for every 20,000kms. Relatively a short interval. Kaya yun na din ginawa ko sa Pajero. Sa Vitara, longer ata ang interval.

for diesel--- gear oil 90 is mostly used aside sa isuzu which they used enigne oil with 15w40 grade.... but it wold be better if you could use a 80w90 gear oil for your transmission....

gasoiline---- honda uses ATF dexron III... ewan ko lang kung ano ang gamit ng ibang model....

sa honda normally 2.5 liters. don't use anything but engine oil. the 75w90 or 80w90 gear oils normally make the tranny a bit notchy and hard to engage kapag malamig pa makina.

GEAR FF-LSD TYPE 2 is motuls oil for lsd tranny's while MOTYLGEAR is the regular fully synthetic gear oil, GEAR 300 is the ester based gear oil.
