Another osmena highway look, araneta avenue. Not pleasing to the eyes. Bad chi. Wala ng aninag ng araw sa lupa.
So in the first place dapat ito na lang ginawa, wag na lang mrt.
San Miguel proposes 'elevated EDSA' with bus rapid transit to solve traffic | ABS-CBN NewsSan Miguel proposes 'elevated EDSA' with bus rapid transit to solve traffic

MANILA - San Miguel Corp. is proposing to build an "elevated EDSA" toll road that may include a bus rapid transit system to solve traffic congestion in Metro Manila, the company's head confirmed on Wednesday.
SMC president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang said the elevated road would be built on top of EDSA and would stretch from Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City to either Samson Road or Balintawak in Quezon City.
Ang said he has already talked to Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade about this proposal.
The toll road would have 10 lanes, with 5 lanes each on both northbound and southbound directions. The elevated EDSA may also include dedicated lanes for a bus rapid transit system.
"Two lanes lagyan mo ng (you put) bus rapid transit, each bus rapid transit [can carry] 300 passengers-- it can carry 1.5 million passengers a day; solved ang traffic di ba (traffic is solved right)?" Ang said.
The SMC chief said they plan to release more details about the project and submit the proposal to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) next week.
"Yung details noon (The details), we will be submitting to DOTr siguro Monday or Tuesday," Ang said.
San Miguel formally signed an agreement with the DOTr on Wednesday to build a new 'Manila International Airport' in Bulacan.
EDSA, which cuts through several cities, is one of Metro Manila's most traffic-choked thoroughfares. Several measures have been proposed to address traffic on the roadway, including banning private cars during rush hour and barring buses from the avenue.

Id support this and welcome this . At least the private sector is trying to help when the govt is unable to.
Agree that the entry and exit ramps will be the biggest problem.....

If they will build elevated highway on edsa expect even worst traffic there up to 2-3 years.

Toll road again.. I'd rather SMC takeover the bus franchises covering EDSA with the help of the government and government impose moratorium on developing new CBDs and malls near EDSA (or whole NCR).

unahin muna elevated covered bike lane. Wala kasi pera sa bike kaya wala nagpopropose. Hindi kailangan ng fuel.
Believe me pag may protected bike lane eh pati babae magbibike. Pati mga pasosy metrosecxual bibike na din. These are the masa people. Many will be fit gaganda pwet.
Let us shift from car to other modes of transpo.
Dapat nga mag-initiate ito city of makati ng elevated bike lane. Pagkaliit-liit ng eskinita jan tapos ipipilit kotse. Eh ngayon mas mabenta suv desel eh mas lalo masikip.
imagine caloocan bonifacio shrine all the way to pasay. Tapos makati ayala around central business district and pasay magkakaextension din ng bike lane. Mababawasan sasakay sa bus and jeep. Its better pa you control your movement.
Ganyan katipid. Kaso syempre buwis-buhay.
iba yung market ng bike mga masa.
pero maging protected lang like eleavated, covered, exclusive pati metrosecxual sasali jan. DAmi kaya sa UP diliman pag sunday biking biking kasi nga kahit papano exclusive doon pag linggo. I know its lesiure biking there. For the maintenance and security guard eh 1 to 5peso kada use.
I am not opposed to bike lanes, pero nagtataka din ako sa major roads natin.
Yung pinakasimpleng YIELD or do not block the intersection dapat din talaga strictly enforce, di magawa dito. Kita na nga barado, sige padin siksik. Walang galawan tuloy lahat ng lane.
I just don't think bicycle lanes will offset the volume of cars on EDSA. What it'll probably end up doing is offsetting the volume of daily commuters who travels < 10kms one way from using public transportation. But the people using cars will still be using cars...coz they can... they're rich, or they're not in a hurry, or just not fit enough to ride bicycles.
