RFID user here. So far the only thing I don't like about it is when my tag is not picked up by the sensor at the booth. Have to give my card to the teller to manually process it. Everything else like reloading facility at SM, stickered headlight are fine with me. Tag showing no signs of peeling even if I just leave alone with the elements, pressurized carwash etc.

January 28th, 2016 10:13 AM #85I've seen this a lot of times when there is build up in the ETC lane.
Giving your card basically defeats the purpose of the ETC (just a bit).
My suggestion is for the SLEX operator to just put a sensor that can be reach by the driver. The driver can just tap the card himself (assuming it also has RFID) instead of giving it to another person in the booth. Similar to the SUICA train cards in Tokyo.

+1 on this.
1st Generation E-pass user. Just switched to RFID a couple of weeks back. My 2nd Gen Epass just passed on. My windshield mounted RFID works in 75% of the booths I pass. E-pass has a better hit rate. I don't know how true but, the RFID personnel who installed mine said that E-pass transponders are causing interference to RFID. It is deployed in tandem at the shared booths. Once E-pass units are removed, expect better hit rates. Let's see...no choice but to give it a chance.

Had all of our rides subscribed with RFID under one account. So to me, very convenient....
As with bro.radical,- our windshield mounted RFIDs work 75% of the time, so the card should be with you all the time....
On the same booth,- one day it works with at least a meter and a half away from the barrier. The next day,- it won't read even if I am at the point of hitting the barrier.... Very inconsistent!
This morning,- won't read at entrance and exit,- when I did not encounter any problem yesterday....Oh well.....
