August 24th, 2019 09:16 PM #1Hi guys,
Is there a general traffic rule or law about inner lanes MUST take a U-TURN or does it have to have a sign that says INNERMOST LANE MUST TAKE U-TURN?
The street is a 3-laner.
Thanks

August 24th, 2019 09:21 PM #2if it is not forbidden, it is allowed.
if it is not specifically ordered, it may not be performed.
what does the road signage say?
but there are rules on common sense. while one may not get a ticket for not following these common sense rules, one may still get a fender bender.Last edited by dr. d; August 24th, 2019 at 10:01 PM.

Not sure about the law on these things but in general I keep to the center lane until a few hundred meters when I need to turn to avoid getting a ticket. Then I merge into the right lane.

There are intersections with signs that say "left lane must turn left" and if you are in this lane and you go straight you will get a ticket. On u-turn slots i have not seen one that says "this lane MUST take a u-turn" but at the 2 u-turn slots between muñoz market and sm north i have seen cars ticketed for being in those lanes then going straight even though there are no signages to warn drivers.
Why, did you get a ticket?

Most of the time, not always, road arrows tells you what you're allowed or not allowed to do on a lane.
These signs, of course, are self-explanatory. If you wiggle out of it at the last moment, you will get apprehended.

August 28th, 2019 11:15 AM #9these surface signs are easy to see, if there's no traffic.
impossible to see, if traffic is bumper to bumper.
woe to the stranger to the area...
there's one such at the leftmost lane on northbound taft avenue, before p faura. daytime traffic there is usually bumper to bumper.
one arrowhead going straight, and one turning left.
naninita the TEs those on that lane who go straight. i can not believe the TEs do not know such surface signage exists there.

August 31st, 2019 02:30 PM #10Yeah you're right, there are no signs that leftmost lane must take a U TURN. There are signs though that says U TURN slot.
I got into a traffic incident wherein the vehicle in the innermost lane went straight ahead and its front right fender got scraped by my car. It is a 3 laner, and the 2nd lane is always allowed to take U TURN, I say this because I take this route everyday.
The police investigator is purely looking at who hits who and no interest whatsoever in apprehending the other driver for driving straight while on a U TURN slot.
And by the way, the other vehicle's LTO OR is expired. But again the police investigator seems not interested at this either.
