That was the Clark-Subic part. I now frequently pass through the Tarlac-Clark portion, and it is nowhere as beautiful as the Clark-Subic portion.

Travel time is almost the same from Tarlac to Sta. Ines compared to MacArthur Highway. The difference is siguradong walang traffic sa SCTEx. The Tarlac-Sta. Ines portion of SCTEx is actually farther by a few kilometers than travelling through MacArthur Highway.

Di pa sya open. The SCTEx was supposed to be turned over last Feb. 15 and to be opened on March 15. But I think it got delayed and turn over was rescheduled to April. I just passed by the Tarlac-Clark portion last saturday and there were parts (several kilometers) that are being repaved. And most overpasses in this portion are still under construction.

Bros., appreciate it if you could share a map to us showing where are the entry and exit points. I want to pass through this road on our way North even if the overall distance is longer so that I can avoid the choke points in the current route.

    Sana diretso nang Baguio!

    TIA.

The SCTEx is not yet officially OPEN to motorists.

Entry/Exit point sa Tarlac is along the Tarlac-Sta. Rosa road. Around 7kms from the Metrotown Mall in Tarlac City. Coming from Baguio City, make a left turn at the intersection with traffic lights (dun sa may McDo) and just go straight.

The Entry/Exit point of SCTEx along NLEX is between Dau & Sta. Ines exits, at the part where the 4-lane road merges into 2-lane road.

The entire stretch of the SCTEx is longer than the NLEX, so expect the toll fee to be more expensive than that of NLEX, that is, if you'll traverse it from end to end.

If you'll be coming from Manila going to Subic, I don't know if it will be faster to go all the way to Clark just to get into the SCTEx going to Subic, or better just to use the old road via San Fernando, Pampanga.

    Mabalacat? Yes.

If you'll use SCTEx going north, you'll bypass the towns of Mabalacat, Bamban, Capas and Tarlac City.
