That was the Clark-Subic part. I now frequently pass through the Tarlac-Clark portion, and it is nowhere as beautiful as the Clark-Subic portion.
Travel time is almost the same from Tarlac to Sta. Ines compared to MacArthur Highway. The difference is siguradong walang traffic sa SCTEx. The Tarlac-Sta. Ines portion of SCTEx is actually farther by a few kilometers than travelling through MacArthur Highway.
Di pa sya open. The SCTEx was supposed to be turned over last Feb. 15 and to be opened on March 15. But I think it got delayed and turn over was rescheduled to April. I just passed by the Tarlac-Clark portion last saturday and there were parts (several kilometers) that are being repaved. And most overpasses in this portion are still under construction.
so sir bale ang entry point nito is either tarlac or clark diba, so where exactly sa tarlac ang entry point nito? thanks po. hehehe. and damn, ang ganda ng highway!
Bros., appreciate it if you could share a map to us showing where are the entry and exit points. I want to pass through this road on our way North even if the overall distance is longer so that I can avoid the choke points in the current route.
Sana diretso nang Baguio!
TIA.

The 94 kilometer SCTEX toll fee will be free to motorist for the entire Holy week starting Tuesday and will be closed again after Monday 24 Mar. to enable contractor to check, make corrections to ensure quality and safety according to news

Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway
The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway is a 94-kilometer four-lane expressway currently under construction north of Manila, in the Philippines. It starts in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales passing through the interchange with the North Luzon Expressway near the Clark Special Economic Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga and ends at the Central Techno Park in Tarlac City, Tarlac. When the expressway is finished, it will provide shorter travel time leading to faster transportation of goods between the two economic zones. It will have similar features with the recently rehabilitated North Luzon Expressway. The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway’s Phase 1 of construction was started on April 21, 2005 and was completed on December, 2007 while Phase 2 will be completed on March, 2008.

the tarlac route is closed though its 90%or more complete...
im not sure if this has been discussed and if this is the right section,
last week weve tried this path and highly recommended to you guys. I think its 55 kms of nice road and gorgeous scenery (especially in the afternoon) from clark to subic.
bro, how much did you pay for the toll??? saan ang exit from NLEX?? thanks.
holyweek offer, its free im not sure if its until this sunday nalang.
But i think its operated by the same guys who did NLEX, kaya expect it to be based on their rates, but lets hope its not.
*a fellow forumer at motioncars said the scenery reminds him of Austria. Never been there but surely those rolling hills illuminated by rays of sunset surely is a masterpiece. There is an emergency parking area halfway, i should have stopped there to take photos.
I think so, too.
I'd like to share this:
Today, we went to Subic Freeport Zone via NLEX - SCTEx.
It took us 50 minutes from NLEX San Fernando entry to SCTEx Tipo Tollgate.
We were somewhat disappointed with the quality of the road. Kabago-bago, marami nang blemishes -- maliliit na patches at bukol-bukol. But overall, the ride was smooth, almost as smooth as NLEX.
nice attention to detail sir, havent noticed that, maybe im just too focused sa scenery, hehe.Maybe may mga minor accidents na nangyari, on our way back to clark, we saw a dead cat, and few kms there were clothes on the road.
closed daw this tuesday, so test run palang ata ito.
