baket kaya parang may political will ngayon

    may incentive siguro

    who's the puppet master?

    baka China

    dangling huge incentives

something tells me i'll be revisiting this post in the near future

Its time... tama ng excuse yung kahirapan.

Heheh... thinking out loud lang. Nyhahaha

Technically, the only thing 'public' about these jeepneys are the riders...

In the end, private lang din owner niyan, same with the buses, taxis and tricycles.

Because provincial governments don't really mind overloaded tricycles, unused seatbelts, or smoke belchers.

Ang importante for them, nakakarating sa pupuntahan yung mga tao at nadadala yung mga bilihin from the farm to the market.

Diba lto and ltfrb ang nationwide. No need for provincial govt to be involved with.

    Sino bang naghahari-harian sa probinsiya?

I've been working in different provinces for the past couple of years. Simple as that.

So meaning ningas kugon lang itong current of jeepney phaseout /huli.

    Kasi di sya nationwide.

I wonder bakit biglang naging masipag ulit tong mga ito. Maybe they fear that they will be sacked.

Back in the early 2000s Kia and Columbian tried to introduce a modernized jeepney. Anyone remembered this?

Yep. Meron silang Kia Ceres Jeep dati.

Anyway, I am hoping for a complete overhaul of the whole system.

is their loading and unloading practice the major cause of traffic?

Whether they're loading/unloading or parked somewhere, they cause traffic congestion

    Karamihan ng operator walang garahe

Pag hindi nasa biyahe jeepneys are parked along inner streets

Then there are those illegal terminals

Pag nasa biyahe takbo hinto takbo hinto

As long as ganyan ang mass transport ng Pinas Hindi tayo ga-graduate from 3rd world status

i imagine, because of their numbers, their mere presence on the road, is a cause for traffic.
and if they have to take up two lanes to load and unload passengers wherever and whenever it is convenient for them...
or when they refuse to move on at street corners for endless minutes, waiting for passengers... perhaps one is bear-able. but when you have six of them all doing the same thing...

and if we think it's over for them when they go home to retire for the day... there are pujs parked on the roads in our neighborhood on a semi-permanent basis. tumutubo na ang halaman sa ilalim. ma-trapik sa daan na 'yon dahil sa kanila.

the jeepney has evolved, from solution to transport shortage, to king of the road, to pest, to... plague!
not to mention, contributor to air pollution.

personally, i see the puj as a shining example of our lack of discipline as a people.

but in fairness, private vehicles also have their share.

I dont think those jeeps that were apprehended are doing something to make their vehicles “roadworthy”

they’re probably waiting and hoping na wala ng nanghuhuli
