I never really pay attention to tint brands. pero mostly 3M yun kinakabit sa cars ko kasi may logo eh.

di naman ako particular sa init, kasi ginawin ako eh, i'm so fit and lean sobrang giniginaw ako aircon settings ko madalas lowest tapos temp lagi 23 or up .

As long as this law will make the roads safer for the public, and hindi gamitin para makaabuso ang traffic enforcers, ok lang.

Mahina talaga kase mata ko sa dilim kaya I never patronized dark tints.

Glass (No tint) = 90% VLT
Super clear tint = 60-70% VLT
    Clear tint = 40-50% VLT
    Light tint = 30-40% VLT
    Medium tint = 20-30% VLT
    Dark tint = 10-20% VLT
Super dark tint = Below 10% VLT

I'm hoping 25-30% is allowed for the sides. I don't remember which US state allows this. crossing my fingers

I'm okay with the windshield being regulated since my front tints are due for replacement. I don't want to swap out my front passnger tints to a higher VLT, but we'll see. It'll probably end up as another ningas kugon law .

Hmmm are they going to have a standard tester to determine the vlt?

Oh, no. I don't even know what the VLT of our tint is. When I bought it, all I remember is telling the dealer I wanted 3M medium mirror tint. I checked out the 3M website and I can't figure out which one it is.

3M medium mirror tint is 3M BC20. It has 17% VLT.

Two possible issues here. LTO may want 30% VLT on front windshield, and they may disallow using mirror tints.

They would need to use portable light transmission meters to measure VLT. Example:

    So "BC" means its "Black Chrome". I just looked it up on the 3M website. I saw a BC10 (10% VTL), BC20 (17%), BC35 (36%), and BC40 (42%).

Damn. I remember telling the dealer I didn't want it dark because I wanted night visibility. No wonder the tint looks darker on the car than on the sample.

Mabuti na lang my front is just the visor and not full. Pero kung hindi papasa, no choice, tanggal. I dont really need it dark anyway.

Like any other new laws, we can't do anything about it naman. So huwag na tayo ma stress.

they won't need one, if the new law disallows tint of any sort!
    heh heh.
    cringe.
