    What's with our government lately?

A lot of unplanned initiatives wanting to be implemented:
    1. Odd-even scheme
    2. EDSA fee
    3. New conduction plate format
    4. Excise tax

And then tint law-- do we even have the enough, well-informed enforcers to monitor it?

    SMH

    I do.

It is just for this new law, I am skeptical if this can be really implemented.

I think his point is, why reinvent the wheel? We all know that proper implementation of existing laws (proper loading and unloading, respecting intersections, etc) will go farther than whimsical ideas.

Bakit hindi maayos ayos to? Lagi sinasabi political will ang kailangan. Eh binabandera ng admin na 'to na may political will sila. Saan na?

I do my best to not be a traffic nuisance on the road but I don't see enforcers penalizing those who are.

I'm just curious how the MMDA thinks that apprehending vehicles with heavy tints will resolve traffic problems in MM. The most glaring violations I see on the road are obstruction (moving and non-moving), as well as counter-flowing. Dark tints or not, they have a right to apprehend and issue tickets for those. A driver who is distracted with his mobile phone or device would likely be driving in such a manner that he is a moving obstruction.

I think it's more for crime prevention that traffic alleviation. But even then, without clear implementation rules and tools for enforcers, this is just another pointless initiative.

Well that's the thing. Crime prevention is not the MMDA's primary function. Besides, it would have been really easy for government to prohibit dark tints. Just tax the damn thing through the roof so no one would buy!

The thing with increasing taxes excessively to deter sales is that you facilitate the growth of the grey/black market.

This holds true for cars, cigarettes, and even tints if you like. More incentive for technical smuggling, more leeway for bribery.

I'd get affected with this. hahaha. For my next car purchase I won't be getting dark tints anymore. It's really hard to drive at night.
