January 4th, 2018 12:13 PM #82Been reading about this and am glad I didn't upgrade the tint provided by the casa. My SA was selling me the mirror-type/reflective (one-way) tint, but I chose to keep the free six-inch tint on the top portion of the windshield.
However, I am thinking of changing the windshield tint to clear type and upgrading the one installed on other windows. I'd like to be certain about UV protection and heat rejection. I've tried driving my new car at noon and the sunlight still hurts a bit. Good clear tint will help reduce the effort that the aircon will need to cool the inside of the car during hot days. Another reason is still to reduce glare at night. Headlights on high beam appear much brighter without any tint on.

January 4th, 2018 12:25 PM #83many years ago, there were no tints.
what were used, were sunglasses for the driver and cloth window shades for the rest of the car..
it might be a good interim, until the tint law becomes a reality.

^ Dati, uso was no tint and white seat covers. Very clean to look at. Our cars were like that in the 80s up to the 90s. Unfortunately the heat and traffic have really changed things.
I don't mind the lighter tint shade requirement but i do hope they will still allow full front tint with a light shade for private vehicles on the following:
- The heat while stewing in traffic during the summer (or else i'll be forced to shell out for the more expensive clear tints).
- Privacy and security, especially for women drivers (I've had lady office mates who have been singled out by lawless elements when driving alone).

Clear tint naman sakin sa windshield, but the rest I'll have to change if this law passes.

January 4th, 2018 09:34 PM #88Tint has come and gone. In the 70s nauso ang dark tint then ipinagbawal nung martial law.

I am a very good driver but I myself admit hirap talaga ako sa tint sa harap lalong lalo na sa gabi or ummuulan. takaw aksidente yan, aside from the blind spots ng front ng cars
this windshield tints should be outlawed and fined.
then why are we the only country that has the 400cc requirement? even CCLEX allows 125cc bikes ...
