How important is a parking space at home

wait you're planning to get a new car but can't afford a new place? no offense but better get your priority straight, a place of your own is much better than a new car. and honestly they should make a law that only allows you to own as much car as you can fit in your garage or parking space. i'm seriously getting tired of cars parked in streets that make it pretty hard to maneuver through.

In Hong Kong, the authorities won't allow purchase of a car without showing title to a parking slot. In Singapore, parking is via parking fee coupons for HDB flats, hefty fine for those cars without valid parking coupon. In both countries, car prices are sky high, precisely to keep numbers in tight control. Singapore does it via public bidding for "Certificate of Entitlement" or COE to buy a car. I think we should have both: require parking or government provided parking but with parking fees and hike car registration fees to include COE type fee. But government must improve public transport first.

Some banks visit the loan applicant's house to check for parking spaces. Lack of one might mean higher interest rates or outright disapproval.

A parking space is a must-have for every person who has a car.

The street, is a street. It is not a parking space, unless the whole community approves that it will be made as one -- for example, subdivisions.

If your apartment doesn't have a parking space, and you don't want to move out of your apartment because of financial reasons, then find a way to have a parking space. It will not just for the benefit of the people that live beside you, but it is for your benefit as well.

Unless you don't care about your car. A brand new one, at that. You would always think about your car's safety every single minute that you leave it outside your household. Exposed to everyone and everything.

But then again, we live in a country where a simple etiquette like this is looked past through, so do what you want. I'm pretty sure there are cars parked on your street as of the moment. So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I'm just one of the people who's getting tired of seeing cars that are parking blocking a whole lane of a goddamn street.

dati sa amin may nakapark na civic sa tapat ng bahay namin sa pasay. inaakyat ng mga bata yung tsikot pag naglalaro sila. nagalit si civic fanboi. bitbit yung 9mm. & ginawa nung may ari, binakuran ng kawayan ang civic. sa kalsada yun ha......kala mo kanya yung kalsada.

the next day may patay na pusa na sa ibabaw ng civic nya. naaagnas w/ all the juices flowing down his car.

eventually tinanggal nya yung car & parked his civic on a private parking lot.

Nakatira kami dati sa isang apartment sa Caloocan. Meron ako dating toyota corolla na nakapark din sa daan. Totoo ang mga sinasabi ninyo..Madalas ako noon mawalan ng side mirror, once nawalan ako ng stereo, mga hubcabs etc. Ang problema pa kahit nakahiga kana, pag may narinig kang nagtatakbuhan, nagsisigawan, hindi kana makatulog baka kasi mag away at madamay ang sasakyan,or kung malakas naman ang ulan baka pasukan ng tubig. Minsan nga pag gising ko may nakita akong upos ng cigarillo sa hood na dinikdik, Ma prapraning ka talaga. Hehehe. Buti nalang after a few months nakalipat kami ng ibang apartment na may parking. Hassle talaga pag wala.

Baka Baguio yung hometown ni TS. Kung sa Baguio, you don't need a car to go around there and parking/rent shouldn't be much of a problem.

buti nalang talaga at nagtanong muna ako dito kasi alam kong makakakuha ako ng unbiased feedback pag 'di ko kakilala mga magcocomment.

maghahanap pa talaga ako ng apartment + SECURED parking bago ako kumuha ng car.

Why not start with a girlfriend muna. Pwede mo i-garahe sa apartment mo and you can ride on her too. The beauty, makakalimutan mo yung gusto mong mag-kotse, problem solved at a very economical/practical approach. Ito isang beauty, masmadali magpalit ng GF kaysa magpalit ng kotse.

Mas maraming mura na place sa Boni area or sa Pasig... for 5K a month meron na parking space ang takbuhan ng rent doon...

daming apartment/condo sa mandaluyong, baka meron pa na walking distance lang sa work mo. just stay away from flood prone areas since madami din jan sa mandaluyong binabaha.
