Look for a slot for your car first. Buy it only if you have somewhere to park it already.
Even if it's generally safe to park on the street where your apartment is, it's still not the right thing to do. You're inconveniencing others since that street is not yours alone (unless the apartment is by a cul-de-sac, eh di less inconvenience for your neighbors).
If you have to transfer apartments just to get one with parking, and none of your roomies share it with you, but you feel you must have a car, consider a good 2nd hand one. This way, you address your need for a car, but still have money for rent and for the additional expenses the car brings.

Parking is about securing your car. Security against bad elements and nature. Parking it on the street, leave's it open for bad elements ( robbers, vandals, disturbance & nature). When you look for a place to park, it should be safe & secured. Safe against nature since sunlight easily deteriorates the rubbers and paint. When it rains, make sure hindi bumabaha sa parking slot mo. Remember UNDOY at Habagat.

July 1st, 2013 12:51 PM #24share ko lang para makatulong din kay TS
We live in a subdivision, tahimik, may guard, may roving, etc. maraming pumaparada sa labas, kampante eh, walang dumadaan na hindi tiga don eh.

What's the average cost for a parking slot ngayon? It's around 3k-5k per month?

July 1st, 2013 12:58 PM #26bakit car? why not motorcycle or scooter..
5. Can you ask a girl to ride on your ride?
6. Safety
6.1 pag car, depende kung paano ka binanga or bumanga
6.2 pag motorcycle/scooter, depende sa pag drive mo
7. Can it cross flooder street?

a classic example:
we live in a one car garage townhouse.
we have two cars.
what i did is to ask the owner of the townhouse beside us na hindi dun nakatira.
and i am renting their carport at 2.5k/month.
problem solved.
