many filipinos are very particular with speed , dont you know that 'speed' kills? what for should you drive at 180kph or more. if you are into racing then fortuner is not for you.
i am from baguio and i am travelling with 2 other passengers almost twice a months to manila using just my mitsubishi lancer and i never had problem driving through marcos highway, how much more for a 2.7 fortuner.
consider the difference in cost between 3.0V and 2.7L variants
bro may lalabas na bang all new fortuner? kasi sa ads andami nilang
freebies at nagbibigay pa ng 0% int. for 18mos.
I think kelangan na muna ilabas ng Toyota ang bagong Hilux model before ng bagong Fortuner model since dun sya based.
Yung reason na maraming promos/discounts para sa fortuner their trying to sell excess/unsold units (demand for the Fortuner is getting lower as time passes) since every month naman may shipment ang Toyota ng 400-500 Fortuner SUVs para sa buong pinas...
Hi Guys,
My friend owns a fortuner 4x2 matic d4d (old body-not projector type headlight). It had an accident early this year and was at the CASA for 5months, (front and rear our damage) bumpers, headlights, paints, breaklights, rear doors. Well anyways it was released last week-friday. Her driver did not noticed that the ABS was continously ON while driving. She just noticed it just this weekend when she was about to drive it personally. The Fortuner is now back at the casa, initial findings when they plugged the computer analyzer was one of the abs sensor is malfunctioning? her mileage is at 14k +++
Im assuming it might be her break pads wearing off or someone from the casa canibalized the parts from her fortuner?? her car is being serviced at Toyota Ortigas C5.
Can someone enlighten us here? did you guy encountered this issue also ?
Thanks..
i heard that the new fort 2011 is coming out this last quarter of this year... is this true?
Well maybe you have been away for too long and have never heard latest developments on the SUV segments in the Phils.
How's the Fortuner?
Medyo may plano kami to get a 4x2 family car/SUV, na mataas (in case umulan, dahil ang daily route ay along Espana). So yung ride ba ng Fortuner ay mas naging car-like na compared to the pre-facelift one?
Well I'm also here in KSA, last April we bougth a 3.0V Fortuner 2010, and have no regret in regards to the look and speed, and all the improvements.
As my sales agent told me, there is no new model coming up, except the upgrade one. (3.0 d4d), if ever Toyota will release a new model, that will
only be on 2015.![]()
According to motioncars.com, the Fortuner was released sometime 2005, so it is approximately 4.5 years old. Given this, I don't think an all new model will be released by late 2010/early 2011; another facelift perhaps, or additional features for the same money to spur sales.
Do you really beleive that?
Sales are dwindling in all countries except India (it's not long on the Indian market). The engines and the rear suspension are the man complaints. I do not think that Toyota will sit down and take it. They will produce either an all new model or a greatly revised model in the next year or 18 months. Even with the top spec Fortuner's php80,000 discount, the Montero is selling at twice the rate.
Even with the constraints of the 'dirty' Filipino diesel fuel, 100hp from a 2.5L engine is riduculous. 2.5L pajero's were producing 100hp 20 years ago.
It was released May 2005 so it is already 5 years in the market.
Not true unless of course, Toyota would like to make the Fortuner like the longest selling model of Mitsubishi, the L300 Versa Van. 23 years in the market and still counting. As my sales agent told me, there is no new model coming up, except the upgrade one. (3.0 d4d), if ever Toyota will release a new model, that will
only be on 2015.
Sales Agents will tell the buyer anything they want to hear just to clinch a sale.
The last Hi-Lux model was in production for eight years. The one before it lasted for ten years. The Fortuner may also be a one off model similar to the Revo. Don't expect the Fortuner to sell the way it did 5 years ago, but I doubt the Montero Sports would ever equal the number of Fortuners that was sold. Mitsubishi still has to totally shake off the stigma for selling lemons in the 90s.
I think you don't need to look for the speed, becoz it is very seldom here in our country that the car can run more than 150 km/hr, even in the expressway, aside from speed limit of 100 km/hr. there are a lot of undisciplined drivers.
The only thing that I can recommend is, it is better to buy the manual variant of the fortuner, kasi malakas daw sa brake pad ang mga automatic nila and more maintenance than manual, and also when it comes to consumption and engine sound mas swabe ang tunog ng makina ng manual variant hindi sya hirap, kahit 2.5 lang sya pero sa hatakan, wala akong masabi, kasi yon ang unit ko, 2.5 G M/T, mas mura pa sa lahat ng fortuner, pareho lang din ng feature sa ibang fort.
Flamebaiting? Post something sensible to begin with if you want anyone to recognize you considering your 4 post count. Sheesh, the immaturity level is amusing. Isipin mo rin siguro na gusto niya yung 4x4, eh automatic lang meron nun. Toink!![]()
