i think
Vios has same the same engine and chassis with the ECho

The yaris now has same engine with vios and the echo verso I dunno about the chassis

1NZ-FE which won awards i believe.

Its practically the same care in a different shell.

I think jazz is better in terms of space.

But yes, the existence of the Swift and Jazz hurt sales. The small hatchback market is after two things: Looks and Economy.

Looks-wise, the Swift still pips the Yaris, and Economy-wise, the Jazz has the Yaris covered, with that wonderful CVT and the availability of a 1.3 (and more space, to boot).

The Yaris, in 1.5 liter trim, will only appeal to that very small subsection that's interested in sporty hatchbacks... and the Jazz 1.5 and Swift 1.5 are both sportier than the Yaris... thus, sales are slow.

yeah i like the yaris but wouldnt think of getting one...i'd just add 100k and get the civic 1.8s instead if i were in the market for a car right now

The Yaris may be another mistake of Toyota, Even if they are #1, they still have a few mistakes..
I think the Yaris should have been brought here with the European Diesel engine to have a chance against the Jazz. Or bring in the 2 door model to have a chance against the Swift.

rather than getting this, go get the suzuki alto.. the alto according to a uk review gets 24 km/liter

at half the price.. or just go get 2 suzuki altos..

uummm...

I dont think you can really say it's a mistake because as you can see toyota is not really pushing yaris to sell like hotcakes its really up to us if we buy it or not... I think they introduced yaris to the Philippine market because they wanted us to have more choices or selections in choosing Toyota cars.. so that we wont be stuck in just choosing between a vios or an altis if we have the money to spend.. I think one of the reasons why Toyota is the number 1 car company here because they offer various selections of cars for different people and for their different preferences and needs.
