No matter what I did (pull hard, vehicle inclined, etc.), the seatbelts on our 95 LiteAce won't lock.

Ganito ba talaga ito? We had a 91 Corolla before and although the belts didn't lock by just simply pulling hard on them, they did when the car's body was inclined.

    Thanks in advance.

ihmo. hindi lang sa liteace but i think all seatbelts should lock so as not to defeat the purpose of wearing one.

yung 91 liteace namin naglolock naman pero you have to pull quick and hard nga lang. defeats the purpose talaga! naiimagine ko na at that force para ka nang nabangga head on at 100kph! less than that, hindi magca-catch! siguradong teypok ka! van pa naman!

pull it twice na magkasunod to check . ganyan yun sa ae92, mauuntog ka muna ng isang beses bago mag-lock:mrgreen:
siryusly, it works naman on instant braking

Ngayon ko lang uli na-check ito. Tagal kasing nag-down tsikot.com e. Di ko ma-tyempuhan.

Thanks jojoico! It locks if I do what you say. Haven't had the opportunity to try out instant braking yet though. :D Oh well... guess I just have to be extra careful then.

    People,

Does anyone know if a stock '95 LiteAce GXL come with keyless entry? When we bought ours, it came with the remote, but it doesn't work. The previous owner said it was broken. Nasaan ba nakalagay yung receiver nun? I think it just needs to be reset or something.

    Thanks in advance.

i have the same year/model van, walang keyless entry offered sa liteace at that time, most probably alarm w/ keyless entry yan.

I have a 96 GXL Liteace. Walang keyless entry. Aftermarket accessory yan, alarm with remote. Ang stock lang sa GXL is power lock and windows.

Ang sira ba eh yung remote? Di ba dapat pair yan? Ask for the other one kung nasaan. Punta la nalang sa isang reputable electrical shop and have it checked kung pwede pa repair. If not, buy a new alarm system nalang:lol:

When I got the Pajero, sira din ang remote. Yung alarm module nasa ilalim ng dashboard (although relocated na yung sakin for security reasons). Pinagawa ko sa Jaffas sa may Banawe. They made a new transmitter.

Jaffas is near the corner of Mayon.

    Hello all,

I am expat and live here in cebu since December 2014 - and now its time for my own first car here.

After looking around I found one car - a TOYOTA TOWNACE build 1991 automatic diesel 4x4 - that is pricey and ok - BUT I need your advice because I don't know how common that model is - do I get it repaired here and how about spare parts for that old model?

Any answer is helpfull - thank you.

The parts are not hard to find, it uses either 2c-t or 3c-t engine. it is a counterpart of Tamaraw FX 2C non turbo. The parts used are identical.

Thanks for all the info you provided.

Ok, malamang after market lang nga siya. No big deal, para sa akin naman "nice to have" lang ang keyless entry. I can live without it.

Just would like to ask for opinion re surplus liteace van from japan.. do you think it's a nice buy to have this van?? cause i know that liteace here in Phils was stoppped in 1996-97, but we can see almost everyday latest models of liteace from japan ( right handed cause the side door is at the left instead of right hand) they are mostly models from 2001 and up...

what bout the maintenance of this van, widely available ba parts nito as compared to those locally assembled??... Any tips will be highly appreciated... Thanks...

    BR,
    epic

I don't really recommend ex-JDM vehicles unless you really know your automotive 101.

Most consumable parts like filters and fluids are readily available. Goodluck on finding body and trim parts (head/taillamps, mouldings, etc.), though.

I guess there are better alternatives out there.

mahirap, unless you know how to inspect these units. Majority of these units come into the philippines chopped up, as in the body is cut in half so the importers can fit in more stuff into the van. Then the van is welded together during assembly. Do you think they can weld it again perfectly? I seriously doubt it. Thus, hindi aligned ang body mo. 2nd, since it was deliberately cut in half, then the body's integrity is totally compromised aside from not being aligned. Kung buo yung body pagpasok pwede pa.
