Hi does anyone here changed their shocks in the new Fort to have a more comfortable ride? I inquired with Atoy customs and they said better to change them with "NAM" brand or Bilstein brand. Thanks! I need you feedback on this.

I don't have the new Fort but I have a lot of experience with Bilsteins. All HD Bilsteins (the ones for pickups and suvs) are high pressure (relatively) gas charged and mono tube construction with digressive valving. This means small dips and bumps like rumble strips will feel harsh but deep and tall holes and bumps will be dismissed easily.

Koni Heavy Track is much better at balancing on and off road ride quality. That's what I'm using in my pickup now.

Have you tried adjusting your tire pressure?

What should the tire pressure be?

Not sure if they have comfort series for SUVs bro, parang HD lahat. Ang tigas sa city even for the CR-V. But yes you're right, offroad masarap sya gamitin like C-6 after umulan or on sand dunes. Di kasi malikot. But for everyday use on roads with imperfections, too harsh for me.

Baligtad experience ko, if on stock springs and Bilsteins lang ang kinabit much harsher on rumble strips and small undulations. Pero pag nalaglag ka sa malalim or hit a tall speed bump at speed, kayang kaya. But overall OME does ride much better. Di lang sya tumatagal masyado for me.

From Niky's review he said the springs and shocks are matched. Knowing his preference for stiff, fast setups, and his (almost negative?) comment on ride quality, I take that as both are a bit too stiff. You need to change both the springs and the shocks. King springs or OME should have published spring rates for their products. If the spring rates are a bit lower than OEM, they should give a better ride. King also have tapered (progressive) springs which should ride well on bumps but not lean too much in the corners.

I've been wanting to get these progressive springs for a while, dami lang masyado gastos this year.

Actually that's what i meant by the Bilsteins being noticeable in the large ruts and the like; instead of dropping straight into a hole in a jarring fashion, you'll somewhat glide down. Control during sudden movement at highway speed is also much better.

We've used Bilsteins in our LC80 and OME on the Everest. The OME had a better results in comfort however there are indeed a lot of other factors.

In the end, if comfort is a priority then tama... get an Innova or a Carnival.

    That's exactly it.

I figure we needed Batman hence the bat signal hehe. Are there any progressive shocks? King lists progressive springs but they are all raised by around 20mm.

    *Monseratto
If you'd like to be a guinea pig for the progressive raised springs I could order them.

    How much would it cost?

So Bilsteins are better sir? How long are they placed on your pickup?

Malabo na yan kahit paitan mo ng shocks, strut yan eh. The most primitive of all suspension systems but the most dursble

Dapat naka wishbone and multilink self-adjusting sa rear ang suspension system

Front is double wishbone setup. Paano naging strut ang mga ladderframe suvs?

    Independent multilink sa rear also.

Also tagtag can be lessened with proper damping rates.

Though not fort, ung 08 everest namin pinalitan ko ng rancho 5000 series front and rear. Ang laki rin ng improvement sa ride mas naging comfortable.
pero pansin ko medyo naging boaty pag high speed na takbo mo sa lambot ng bound at hard ung rebound.

I wouldnt recommend lowering tire pressures to compensate for a smooth ride especially if below sa recommended ng manufacturer(sticker sa driver door) Nag wear ung outer sides ng tires ko faster compared sa center portion due to underinflation running 28 cold.

Yong 28 kasi pag mainit ang panahon pasado narin yong ride comfort, but still matigas parin ramdam na ramdam mo kalsada. papalo ng around 32 when running na. kung 32 agad when cold napaka harsh na ng ride lalo kung ilan lang kayo. iwan ko pero pag puno ok na yong ride. kung city siguro ok lang ang 28 since mabagal lang naman ang takbo.

The new Fort is incredibly bouncy if you are driving alone, though not jolting/tagtag like the old one. I much prefer the ride of the old monty... Is there anyway to tighten the road feedback?

When you say bouncy,- more like a leafspring suspension, bro?

    Parang nangangabayo???

Yep, most evident along light bumps as what Vensong Quezon described. Parang nasa trampoline.
