    My questions are as follows.

    1. What would be the average fuel consumption of the 2.0 vvti Innova?

    2. Will it be "economical" extending the budget to get a d4d variant? How's the performance of the first gen d4d? By economical, I mean if he decides to extend his budget say to 460k, baka hinde maging wise buy, because of the problems that might occur on the first gen d4d like hard starting and choking etc (which is somewhat common on crdi engine). Unlike, if he buys a gas variant eh, wala masyado known problems besides the regular tune up (afaik). Kasi pag sinagad niya yung budget niya, he might not have extra money to spend on repair/s needed.

Your thoughts are highly appreciated. Thank you.
get the diesel. any variant. hindi ka mag-sisisi.
of course there are "problems that might occur"... it's a used car! but don't bet on it at baka matalo ka.
    i haven't yet met a disgruntled d4d owner.

For what purpose ba yung sasakyan? for business o family use?

kung for business at malayo lagi ang tatakbuhin at madalas kargado.. i would suggest you go for d4d pero kung pang pang pamilya.. I would suggest you go for vvti..

kung d4d, be ready sa mga sumusunod

    1. SCV problem
    2. Injectors - napakamahal nito pag ito nasira - dirty diesel can also cause fuel injectors to fail
    3. EGR problems due to dirty diesel - dirty diesel is common dito sa atin.. except Euro 4 (Uni Oil and Sea Oil only)
    4. Mas maingay at malakas ang vibration ng makina compared sa vvti pero mas matipid naman

Kung vvti, be ready sa mga sumusunod

    1. Fuel Tank warping - (2005-2008? model)
    2. Fuel Consumption - average is ~ 5-7 km/l

btw.. mine is 2013 vvti at.. so far i get ~6.7-7 km/l moderate to heavy traffic.. and very satisfied sa performance..

Our Innova is 2008 E model, it is VVTI, arounf 6-7 km/l pure city drive, 800 meters x 4 per day, peros a highway can give you 14km/h.

Nakuha namin for PhP 270k + 30k sa mga ahente, first owned, with casa records nasa 50k km nung nabili namin.

Thank you for all the inputs guys!

*homhomnova- That's exactly ang usual nasisira nga on crdi engine, thus nag dadalawang isip ako i suggest sa kanya na mag diesel. It would cost him a fortune if ever na masira yun sa kanya on its first year of ownership, moreover pag wala pang 1 yr. Lagot talaga. While pag gasoline naman is, the usual lang. I have yet to read that warping gas tank of the vvti Innnova.

Usage would be pang family lang. I think hinde naman gagamitin for business kasi wala nmang business. What I don't know is, if he'll use it going to work. I think from Bulacan to Manila ang everyday route nya.

*vvti 2.0- Wow! Thats cheap even with the added 30k comm to the agent. Care to share yung pinagkuhanan nyo? Hihihih. Thank you.

If your getting 2nd hand, better get the vvti. Baka mamulubi ka pag nasira ang diesel. Too many things to go wrong.

Mabilis din naman vvti, wala lamg yung malakas na torque ng diesel.

Its not as weak as the 1.8fx, 2.0 vannete,1.6 lite ace, ano pa ba mga van na mahirap timplahin?

A vvti can tops at 180kph. Usual fc is 7-8. My best hiway is 12kml and i dont drive below 100kph.

After so long I've posted here, maybe it's time to share my thoughts here. I own an Innova Sport Runner Diesel A/t. My first complain before was it is terribly slow. Now i put a race chip and it really improved its performance both for the HP and Torque. It' s a 2010 model and so far, it didn't failed me. No major problem whatsoever. With its 57,000+km mileage, it's still working like new. I just dont let it below half tank so as not to build molds in the tank which is common with diesel tanks that may cause car stalling. I also regularly change oils and filters. No need to bring it to casa. Just religiously follow preventive maintenance and repairs. As for the shocks, I installed O Sulee rubbers, protection for my springs and shocks and as well to improve somewhat the ride.
Although we are a lot in the roads, I can say our Innovas are as reliable as it can be.
