apparently, it happened so insiduously, in the span of over ten years.
my 1st gen innova D4d's manibela seems to be heavier now, than when new.
if i replace the original-since-new factory PS fluid, gagaan pa kaya ang manibela nito?
    tyres are ok factory spec.
no steering leaks, no worn thingees. mabigat lang.

Baka naman medyo mababa na hangin and may konting wear na sa tread ng gulong, doc?

Im surprised you still remember nf "like-new" feeling after 10 years. Hehe

tyres are good. medyo dinadaya ko nga, over-inflating it just a wee bit higher by 10%.

i have another innova kasi. low mileage siya, compared to my beater innova.
the low-mileage innova still has magaan na manibela.

Is the PSF level ok? How often do you change it? Do you hear whining/groaning noises?

Otherwise, the pump might be on its way out.

Have my expansion valve replaced and the car aircon specialist told me that the defective expansion valve is not genuine Denso 2370 and I look at it and compared it to the original Denso they look similar at first glance but side by side original Denso is slimmer. I was surprised that the aircon shop wherein I replaced my expansion valve 3-4yrs ago installed a replacement brand.

    psf level is ok.
i haven't changed the fluid since new.
no noises, no grindings. no abnormal or suspicious feels.
medyo matigas lang manibela, when compared to our low-mileage innova's, but still easily drive-able.
i was just wondering if changing the psf will result in lighter steering.

    well,
unless specified that the part must be an original branded, replacement brands might be de rigueur for the industry.

    also,
there is the matter of pricing.
how many of us will pay premium price, for the replaced part to be original branded?
our (non-innova) car once settled for the much cheaper aircon fix, resulting in raw (hilaw) aircon performance.
replacing it with the original, costing twice the replacement part, solved the problem.

i am assuming replacing the valve fixed your aircon problem?

i remember, decades ago, when we were canvassing for parts for our chariot,
"anong gusto mo, OEM, japan, taiwan, o bayan sell?"
    "anong pagkakaiba?"
"presyo po. at performance. yung OEM or japan, pang long-term personal use or family use yan. yung taiwan at bayan sell, para sa kotseng i-bebenta yan. sa totoo lang, hindi ko recomendado ang taiwan at bayan sell."

The expansion valve just cost around Php2K not that much. I clearly say to the aircon shop years ago that please install original Denso and it is now that I found out that a replacement brand was installed. So cost is not an issue it is just minimal. Should their be a leakage in the evaporator or condenser coil now that's a different story.

this might sound incredible, but sometimes, even dealers can get fooled.
decades ago, the entire hilera of parts stores were peddling this particular ignition coil.
after a short while, there were complaints of coil failure.
it turns out, the coil was a substandard counterfeit, and all the stores were fooled into stocking up on them...

So better get from known dealers like Toyorama or Aerodynamics that are selling genuine parts and not just from unknown dealers.

    ganun na nga, po.
    reputable stores, 'ika nga.

i once asked a banawe store, where they get slow-moving toyota parts.
    "sa casa, po."
it explains why some of their slower-moving parts are priced like the casa's.

Okay. Anyway, I will have to say goodbye to my ever reliable Innova. I don't wanna sell it but I don't have enough garage space so need to let it go.

when it comes to vital items like timing belt, i prefer dealer-sourced parts. timing belt failure can cause engine death, kasi.
15K seems acceptable, in exchange for piece of mind of genuine-ness of parts.
when i had mine done, some years ago, it cost me 12K.

i am not sure, but i think the timing belt cover oil seal is a gasket (cork? rubber?) that runs the circumference of the timing belt cover. it prevents oil from leaking out.

i am also not sure what timing belt gear oil seal is. i think it's the round rubber gasket surrounding the timing gear shaft, also to prevent oil from leaking out.

that's already considered cheap pag labor + materials. other make usually included ang water pump at lahat ng pulleys pag nagpalit ng belt which is way costlier.

Its reasonable for the original parts used. Though I would have included the waterpump as well since its all in the same area and same labor na rin.

    congratulations!
as every other innova diesel owner knows,
these are very reliable and problem-free cars.
all they need are the usual change oil-filter-breaks...
