yup.. water based degreaser or brake cleaner will do.. pwede mo naman un clip yung circ-clip to remove the hose..

nag papawis talaga ng oil yan dyan.. mas malakas pag naka turbo..

    nit-picking,
i can do the walk-around check, with the engine off.

    kanya-kanyang style tayo.

    just sharing my thoughts.

    also,
i have learned not to start the engine, without my sitting on the driver seat, with left foot stepping on the clutch pedal (if present).
    hard lesson from long ago.

Yeah, the crankcase vent tube pretty much becomes moist with oil over time. Road dirt and airborne dust sticks to it and eventually becomes a grease-like crud.

It won't cause any damage and is only superficial. You can spray it with engine degreaser occasionally to keep the build-up at bay.

As mostly everyone said, oil on that part is normal. Na didiscover lng yan when you're not regularly cleaning the engine bay Otherwise, di aabot sa ganyang state if palagi naman napupunasan. But still nothing to worry about.

Re startup ritual, I only fire the car when I know I will drive off na. But I give it some time for temp to go up by driving normally before speeding.

I also try to make everyone get inside the car around the same time. I hate my ma-in-law's ritual where she gets into the car, start it, blast the AC, and then wait for us inside the car while me or everybody else is still trying to decide what clothes to wear. Daym!

    ahoy!
    i have question.
my 2005 innova diesel timing belt warning light flickers for a minute or so, upon starting the engine from cold.
    then it disappears.
i had my timing belt replaced about a couple of thousand km ago, at the casa.
    what does the flickering mean?

    Probably it wasn't reset properly.

Resetting the T-BELT indicator means setting a new distance (in X * 10,000Km) for the next replacement. So, if you want the indicator to warn you after say, 150,000km from now, set X to 15.

This is done using the TRIP button and ignition key combo to get to the setting. There are numerous YouTube videos of it for either the Innova or Hilux.

I don't think dr. d odometer had reach 150,000km yet because T-Belt sign will remain on at all times after ignition.

He had it replaced previously. I don't know whether if the T-BELT lighting up is what prompted him to change it or not, but the counter should've been reset after replacement. It doesn't matter if the T-BELT is lit or not.

Finally decided to replace clutch for 2014 Innova 2.5 since it's already sliding. Max speed is 120kph, ODO of 160k kms.

Any tips here or maybe a good deal within Pasig area?

Aisin daw gamit ni Toyota? Anyone tried Exedy?

Someone quoted me 12K for Aisin kaso sa Antipolo pa cia.

ASAP sana while hindi pa kinukuha ni wifey bonus

    it's not a consistently-on light.
upon starting from cold, it sometimes just flickers a bit for a minute or so, then disappears.

although i had no timing belt issues before, i had the casa replace the timing belt at about 130K km, as a matter of pms

Max speed is only 120kph now unlike nung bago pa umaabot 160kph. And sometimes bigla na lang bumabalik sa "neutral" while in "segunda" on its own creating a "thug!" sound kaya magugulat ka nlng.

Also, meron din cia vibration issue sa manibela *100kph though sa suspension/gulong na po cgro un.
