I have always been a proponent of using OEM fluids for components as important (and expensive) as the A/T, but humor me for a moment on this....

Has anyone tried the Zic ATF III (or Zic ATF 3) on the Innova D4D 1st Gen?

Or can you share what non-Toyota ATF you've used for the D4D variant (A340E A/T transmission)?

guys, it's been a while since i last posted here in the forums. happy new year muna bago mahuli. [emoji38]

anyways, here's my situation right now, the in-laws are migrating to the US in a couple months. they have a '17 innova 2.8 E AT currently at 83K kms, essentially 31 months old. ginawang grab ni erpats kasi.

question now, is it wise to assume paying the remaining 29 months? (around 500k), or have them sell it to somebody else. di kasi inalagaan ni erpats, after the 10K PMS, void na kaagad warranty. body dents all around. he blew the high pressure ac hose in the engine bay, not sure how. we already replaced the alternator bearing. front shocks are on the way. pati all 4 tires nga are of different brands, same sizes though.

but since you guys have the same car for sometime now, you might say this thing is tough and can take a beating. i might as well take it instead of buying new for my small family of 4 (5 and 1yr old kids). currently driving a gen 1 vios and with 2 carseats, medyo masikip na talaga.

sorry for the long story. mas ok na yong kumpleto detalyi. lol. Thanks!

how was the engine oil maintenance? tranamissions fluid? the engine is heavy duty but if the fluids werent changed on time then it might have some issues in the future.

ive riden some fortuners na grab.. they had so much vibrations and suspensions were awful.

suspension and brake parts are normal wear and tear items. plenty of parts.. fake parts thats for sure lol.

^^ shhh baka mahalata edad. [emoji28]

regular naman oil change outside casa. Re ATF, haven't been changed yet. i opened the manual just now and it says to replace at 80K with the condition it's being subjected to.

agree on suspension parts as normal wear items. the body dents i don't worry too much, i know a body shop that can get it done for less.

that 500K may lasso you an older generation innova diesel AT that has less issues and headaches than your in-laws'.
however... if would you like to go into the grab business..?

older gens will probably have more kilometers on them than this unit. the 2.8 is toyotas extra heavy duty workhorse. 500k is a bargain. palit lahat ng wear and tear items. upgrade the head unit and hes got a Tbadge ready for 2020-2030

are you saying, you will buy it, if post-er says he's passing it up?

the post-er kasi... he does not need to buy it, either.

    btw,
we always fail to put a price on our hardship.. headache.. time spent..

Go get the innova. Its cheap. Madali lang naman ayusin mga issues mo.

On the aircon hose, not surprised there. My new innova had faulty hoses and was replaced under warranty while car was 3 months old
