September 17th, 2014 10:52 AM #52Yeah, bad experiences. Gamit ko Innova ng pinsan ko. Weak, stalling engine, weak mushy brakes, maingay pa. Isang beses nagovertake ako sa 2 lane highway, biglang nag engine stall, delekado yan!! Nahihirapan itong kotse umakyat ng ramp, kahit na ako lang sa loob. Bad interior quality, although malambot naman yung suspension. Insufficient power, punch only kicks in 3000-4000 RPM.

It's always the recommended boring choice.
Buti pinapahiram kapa ng pinsan mo. ehehe!

September 17th, 2014 12:34 PM #58InteralCombust,
I do not think homhomnova is personally attacking you. He is just stating the obvious that because of your bad experiences with your cousin's Innova, you are biased towards it. He is also thinking that maybe, just maybe, you are having bad experiences on your own car that you made a poor decision with the car you chose instead of buying one.
I see it rather odd that of the hundreds, if not thousands, of Innova owners in this thread, you are the only one stating this very bad experience. I am very happy with my 2012 Innova J. Nice power, nice fuel consumption, good handling. And it looks good to boot.
Are you even aware of the driving habits of your cousin(assuming your cousin is a he)? Is he driving his Innova beyond its capability? Using it on rough roads very often? Loading it to its capacity almost everyday? Of his maintenance habits(regular oil changes, preventive maintenance check-ups with the CASA or a reputable auto shop?)Or he just ran his Innova to the ground and expected it to perform like brand new?
Is it just me or what you took for a drive is not a Toyota Innova but a Mitsubishi Adventure? Just sayin.

Since kotse pala ng relatives and hindi actual ownership ang pinagbasihan, yung Tito at Pinsan ko, happy naman sa mga Innova nila.
But seriously, based on the description of the issues mentioned (weak power below 3K RPM, hirap sa ramp, etc.) it appears to be more of a maintenance issue on the owner.
I agree, the Innova is a boring choice but i'd get that over an Adventure, Fuzion and Crosswind. The Carens, Livina and Spin are still different from this. If there is someone to blame, it's the other car manufacturers as they have yet to really produce something that can go against the Innova in it's particular class in terms of practicality, pricing, specs and space. The closest vehicle that ate into Innova sales would be the MS if you ask me.

Basing generalized opinion on a rented vehicle.
Blame your cousin not the brand / car.
