December 20th, 2015 05:50 PM #1486kung yung Isuzu 2.5 direct injection pickup 4JA1 engine na gamit ko for almost 20 years na ilang beses ko na nadala ng Baguio na wala ako naging problem what more pa siguro sa more powerful D4D engine na naka turbo na. Sana nga po matipid din sa diesel to cos I prefer po fuel efficiency than the extra HP.
May naka pag try na ba po dito na nag convoy galing QC papuntang Baguio ang SG A/T and GL M/T na nakapag compare ng fuel consumption pagdating doon. My brother and I have almost the same driving style and we plan to do that. Sabi po kasi niya mas matipid ang D4D A/T sa M/T sabi ko hindi.

December 20th, 2015 07:10 PM #1487I think malakas ang Hiace na A/R dahil 4 speed lang ito. Bettter get the M/T.

It's not the extra HP that will matter in climbing Baguio but rather, torque and the gearing. ;) Practice lang sa hanging minsan as the 1st gear tends to bog down when going from standstill on a steep incline with load; in my case i just use the handbrake method so not to burn the clutch.

December 21st, 2015 11:03 AM #1489Wow! Price increase again. They put the 3.0 perhaps to match the NV350. For sure the price of its maintenance will be higher. That's what I love with my SG, wallet friendly PMS, unlike my 3.0 Dmax, it might have a more powerful engine, but its PMS is more expensive too.
No problems in Baguio even if it's fully loaded, that's for sure. Been there 2x already, always full load.
I had a run with an Alterra in the mountain roads of Rizal. I know I can't match its speed or overtake it but no matter how hard he buried its accelerator making his vehicle emit smoke, he never outran me. Once he decreases speed, I was right on his tail again. Nakakasunod padin ako. Not bad for a boxy, bulky, big, fat refrigerator like van that only has a 102 hp and 260 Nm of torque. I was having fun, while siya, baka bad trip na kasi binubuntutan ko lang.hehe
My AT SG got 11+ kms/liter on our last Baguio-La Union trip. I even did some burst speeds up to 145 kph in SCTEX and around 125 kph in NLEX. City driving, around 9 to 10 kms/liter, 7 to 8+ kms/liter with hellish traffic.
