Toyota D4D engine woes

I've done the same thing. I've talked to friends and acquaintances with the D4D, and none so far have had any problem.

That doesn't prove that there's no problem, but it could point to fuel quality as one factor, as everyone in my area fills up at the boutique style gas stations on the SLEX, which have relatively clean fuel tanks and piping.

None of them fill at the local jeepney stations... that's just stupid.

But then, there may be some metro stations that, although brand-named, have certain factors that can lead to poor fuel quality such as rusty tanks or pipes, and built up contamination.

I've seen CRDi vehicles from other manufacturers smoking, but so far, amongst affordable diesels (anyone know anything about BMW or Audi?), Toyota seems to be taking the worst hit in the effects of fuel.

yup avoid those gas stations na may marami pumipila jeepney or nasa jeepney route, may halo yun. nagkaroon din ng katok sa engine strada ko noon.

I dont know what you mean by may halo. Diesel is alot cheaper than kerosene now a days so it is unwise to mix diesel w/ kero.At Kahit na haluan mo ng kero ang diesel hindi mapapakatok nito ang engine ng strada mo. Kawawa naman yong station na pinagisipan nyo ng ganyan. Basta ito lang masasabi ko you can be sure with Shell

May konting difference pero very minimal lang. Kelan pinalitan supply pump mo?
Saan casa? Bakit kaya hindi nalang nag-reprogram? Kasi kung palit parin ng palit ng supply pump ibig sabihin lang na hindi rin effective yong reprogramming.

wala naman akong naramdaman kakaiba sa axle ko, ang kainis pa dito pag pinagalaw mo axle mo , baka may lumabas na ibang sira pa.... eh di kamot ka na naman ng ulo....

Napaka sakit niyan hard earned money, then finally bili ka auto, inisip mo kung bnew o 2nd hand tas pumasok sa isip mo para walang problema mag brand new ka kahit mas mahal. Tas para sure ball sa very reputable na brand kahit mas mahal uli sa ibang choices. Then ganyan mangyayari. Buti sana kung tipong ang sira eh simple lang o simpleng piyesa lang madali na palitan. Ang masakit niyan ndi pa alam kung ano talaga cause. Imbes na drive ka nalang tuwing umaga, hindi pa panatag ang loob mo at sira ang sked mo dahil imbes na pinapasyal mo pamilya mo nasa casa ka nagbabasa ng diyaryo o naka tingin sa legs ng mga ahente habang hinihintay yung diagnosis sa auto mo. Kahit pa may warranty pa, yung oras mo ang nawala.

from the short phone call I had with the service advisor, their tests (where, I don't know) shows that the axle cracks somewhere and develops a leak. That's why they issued a recall. Di daw yan maayos, kaya replace through a recall. Its a 4 hour job estimate daw. Assuming pagpasok sa oto mo, ikaw na agad.
