I'm happy with my black J and no regrets.
Still in stock and new, so I can't answer the other query.

One thing I notice, konting gasgas(hindi malalim), lumilitaw ang puti.
Di kaya white color ang J ko at ni-washover lang nila?

Tatanungin ko yan sa CASA tomorrow.

hello fellow tsikoteers and avanza owners. i have been following your discussions (at least half of this thread) for days until i finally decided to register because i'm planning to get an avanza J anyway.
i'm getting the black variant (from quezon ave - araneta branch) at least to please my craving for the much drooled escalade.

since i'm a newbie and this is a long thread of discussion to follow just to get advises/info, please permit me to ask,

to all J model owners - are you happy with the model?
would the weight to power ratio concern my everyday city driving and monthly tagaytay getaway with almost full capacity passengers?
aside from the minor disappointments with the model, any other major concern i should be worried about before the purchase?
did any of you get power mechanisms for your windows? if yes, where?
lastly, i'm planning to replace the steel rims with the stock mags of the G model, would anyone care to suggest a good shop where i can get these oem parts?

thanks so much for bearing with me. i assure you of good and reliable inputs in the future concerning not only the avanza, but motoring in general as well.

Easiest way is to take Mc Arthur Hiway to Baguio.

Turn left at Romulo Hiway at Tarlac Junction.

At the end of this road has a Mc Donalds at the opposite corner, turn left.

Follow this road and cross over the bridge over Tarlac River.

After the bridge mga less than 2 or 3 Km, there is a major intersection, turn left. may sign naman na eco park and monasterio.

May isang fork sa daan na medyo kulang sa sign, turn left. the rest ay madali na. Just follow the sign boards.

Mga boss excuse me, just a quick inquiry lang on battery replacement. My Scarlet is almost 1 year and 9 months old with 17K plus mileage. I will just ask when is the best time to replace it with a new battery, what is the recommended brand and where to buy with a competitive price? Feel free to comment or suggest on this. Thanks.

sir depende sa gamit mo ng battery kung marami kang accessories sa auto madali talaga buhay nya, pero try to check din alternator ng car na paglalagyan my mga auto sa lakas ng alterntor nag-overcharged naman ang battery nakakaapekto rin to sa life span ng battery.try to check with the used of volt meter once ang reading nya bumaba ng 12 definitely you need to replace your battery.

A black colored car, IMO is the hardest to maintain.

to all J model owners - are you happy with the model?

I am an Avanza J owner. Nadala ko na sa Pangasinan, La Union, Legaspi (Bicol). Kahit fully loaded, no problems. No problem din ang Tagaytay and Tagaytay Hilands. While going up, the RPM should not go less than 2.5K or else you do not have enough torque to climb. At leat 3K is good. With 4 peaople on board I can even use 5th gear in climbing to Tagaytay. Normally using 4th gear, sometimes 3rd for burst of acceleration.

The J is an entry level model so there is much less creature comforts. But it gets you from point A to point B.

No plans yet in getting power windows. But there is an ACP member that brought the sideings of the Avanza G for his J and had power windows installed.

You can buy the Stock Avanza G mags from those traders where Avanza owners traded in their mags for after market replacements. So far, none has brought these mags sa casa. If available, it will be expensive. As halos lahat ng bagay sa casa ay mahal.

tama ka pres yung nakikita natin pag nagka scratch ang avnza, e primer coat, meron kasi sumalbahe sa avanza ko ,ginuhitan ayun labas metal sa lalim

many thanks to this forum (admins) and thanks for the advices po. i agree with you on the maintenance of a black car. kaso no choice ako (long story hehe).

update: i test drove the unit i'm getting and so far IMO, minimal lang ang difference nya sa handling ng sedan (justified naman the rocks and sways of a taller vehicle with a bit higher gravity point) so good choice nga talaga.

i'm not surprised about the interior (dashboard/floorboards etc) what i just don't like are the free fabric seatcovers.

ohwell, for what it's worth - on a long term basis, i'm sure i'll just be as happy as most of the vanzie owners here.

most noted is your feedback on the long-drive with a heavy haul. i'm sure this info will be beneficial to future avanza owners who will stumble upon this thread as well.

Anyway ganoon yata dahil sa black fortuner ng kasama ko same din ang color na lumabas sa very slight scratch, hindi gray, puti talaga.

Di nga pala ako nakabalik sa CASA to ask them, sa 1k PMS ko nalang or pagkakuha ko ng Lic Plate ko.

yung ting ba after mo mag-parked? yan yung metal sa may evap na nag-expand due to used. napagusapan na ito dito sa thread and halos yun lahat ang experienced namin mga ka-ACP'er.

Pag mababa na ba ang RPM ay duon nag vivibrate? Kung oo, you are lugging your engine. medyo masama ito. If normal idling tapos may vibration and masikip na ang mga screws, wala na akong idea kung ano ang problem.

After parking nga sasakran, lalo na pag malamig at tahimik, rinig na rinig nag mga "ting" na tulog. Seems to be na normal lang ito. and it is the sign that the engine is cooling down.

Parang manipis ang gasgas, at manipis din ang final coat.
So nagkaroon uli ako ng feeling na puti ang avanza ko na winash-over lang ng itim.

Anyway di pa ako nakapunta sa mga car detailing shop, update ko lang kayo.
