    Correct, mararamdaman mo naman yan pag naka off OD mas matagal sya sa low gear and mas mataas rpm mo parati (see tacho).

    Mas advisable magkasama na ang powerlocks & alarm, para isang baklasan nalang.

    Pwede naman bumili ng alarm system sa labas, tapos sa toyota ka magpakabit ng powerlocks, tapos pay extra to have the alarm installed, sa TYT Cubao & Ortigas pwede yun ehh. Makakatipid ka kahit papano. And CAsA alarm & powerlocks w/switch nasa 10k

    uhmmm ... ano po iyong "door switches"? *d-uh* are those the thingies on the hand rest? saan po ba mabibili itong accessories na ito? someone already gave us new electrical cables and wiring for the security system, we just probably need the power locks and door switches -- tama po ba?

    They are other wise called courtesy door switch. Sa J kasi wala nito sa rear 2 doors. Front lang. Ginagamit ito sa ilaw sa loob i.e. door function at sa alarm.

    Guys follow-up question lang yung pag-akyat ba natin sa Antipolo harry's place eh dapat i-off na ang OD? or shift lang to lower gear (1 or 2 ba)? or both?

    si shadow sabi sa akin bago umakyat dun sa matarik shift to 2 eh pero ang ingay ng makina so my GPS advised me to shift back to D....ok naman kasi di naman ako nag oovertake saka speed bagal pa rin me hehehe! kaya in-overtake mo ako waaaa

    Dati kasi nung bago pa si Vanzie eh sabi ng tito ko pag paakyat at mataas eh off ko lang OD and shift to lower gear either 1 or 2. So pag-aakyat ako ng camachile bridge pag labas ng subdivision namin i do that waaaaaaa ngayon naman hindi na hehehehe

    Let's take Cloud 9 as an example, yung paakyat dun sa cloud 9 na super tarik (at least for me it is!) ano ba ang tamang gagawin doon? how about when going down? hehehe door-to-door service kami kasi ni Mod Shadow....

    Pag papunta kasi sa UPLB may shortcut na daanan dun sa magnetic hill hindi ako nag dare dumaan kasi matarik like cloud 9 tapos mahaba pa....i would like to try it one of these days!

    nung nag CLOUD 9 tayo.. naka D lang ako.. dahan dahan lang..

    kung gagamitin mo yung "2" dapat OFF ang OD.

    IMHO, just leave it sa D.

    Sa 1.3 iDSI Honda Jazz (sa boss ko) at sa 1.6 Altis namin, D lang ang gamit ko. Kahit papanik sa 5'th level parking sa office. Normally D lang naman ang kailangan natin unless you need the torque para ilagay muna sa 1, then sa 2 then D then turn on the O/D.

    May naka kwentuhan akong Altis owner rin, ito ang ginagawa nya sa car nya pag kumakarera siya. 1.6 A/T rin kasi, pero he changes gears at around 6,000 RPM. Kailangan nya kasi ng tourque para malkas ang arankada.

    eto yung sa akin kanina.. naka 200kms naman sa halfway mark.. kaya lang pagkalagpas sa halfway mark parang ang bilis maubos.. halos nakaka 100kms na lang ako after that.. grrrrr

    Prenster: I will repeat it for the second time around again -- As long as hindi nahihirapan sa D, stick with D. Sabi nga sa manual, do not use 2 and L for long, mag-o-overheat ang transmission.

    For now, turn off O/D kapag nabibitin (or Mabibitin -- learn to anticipate... right, Mod Shadow? )

    pasensya na prenster having senior moments more often lately hehehe...signs of aging waaaaa!!!

    nowadays lagi na lang talaga ako naka D except when we went to antipolo kasi ito si shadow eh niloko na naman ako -- he admitted it though when we were at Harry's place already!

    prenster mahina pa rin ako sa tantyahan up to now...hindi ko pa rin alam exactly mga signs if hirap na makina ni vanzie....i drive less than 3km (1km spent going around sa parking hehehe!) daily max na yon....i guess overtime makakabisado ko rin yon but right now if the road is not flat it's already uphhill for me hehehe.....baby steps baby steps baby steps....

    follow up question on your answer .."you shouldn't stay at 2 or L for a long time as it might cause your transmission to overheat...."

    1. How many minutes ba yung "long"?
    2. so does that mean off ko lang ang OD but stay in D kahit di na mag shift ng gear?

    Qwertz if and whenever mag shift to lower gear (in case I will reach that point hehehe) I need to make sure OD is turned OFF (lights ON)? or may instance na lower gear + OD mode ON? sa susunod sakay ako sa iyo tapos lecture hehehehe

    thanks sir.... i rarely go past 2,000 RPM hehehe eto naka-relate ako sa Robinsons Ermita kasi pag pumupunta kami matarik yung parking so I always change gear pa hehehe

    *Jane - you shouldnt worry about the 2, 1, and OD.. I've done 17,300kms.. parati lang ako naka "D", the only time I used "2" eh nung nag Tagaytay Highlands kami... nung break in period pa ni Goldie yun.. kaya wag mo na intindihin yan mam.. dito sa metro manila.. D lang kakailanganin mo.. OD always ON.

    Regarding FC ng automatic.

    Si qwerty kasi ay basically almost pure city driving. Iyong kay islaw*palitaw (assuming na suwerte siya) ay malaking stretch ay SLEX.

    Assuming na magpalit sila ng Avanza (hehehehehe) they will get almost the same FC on a different Avanza.

    Yes "D" lang naman ang kailangan typically.

    Iyang Tagaytay Hilands na iyan. Grabe ang tarik ng daan, loaded kami sa Avanza pero no problem sa akyatan. Sa pagpasok pa lang, una kong reaction ay mali ang car na dala ko, dapat iyong 1.6 Altis ang ginamit namin. Pero, no problem naman pala sa Avanza. :D

    Jamboree route sa UPLB, D lang din ang kailangan mo. :D.

    thanks qwertz...btw finally nakuha ko na si vanzie last nite...less than 2,200 damage sa 15k pms ko ... i posted the details sa PMS thread....

    kelan kaya EB pa Baguio??? waaaa ambisyosa....sabi ni boss pag Baguio venue we will definitely get a driver....kainis!!!

    kahit sa mga parking mam jane.. hindi ka na dapat mag switch to 1 or 2.. D lang din.. kahit yung parking sa Shangrila Mall sa Edsa.. yun yata isa sa pinakamatarik.. tsaka yung sa MOA and then yang sa Rob Manila.
