Engine flush?

Just want to conribute guys, I'm not an Avanza owner but an Innova Gas owner. My 1Km service does not include engine flush at TMBC, I only pay for oil, oil filter and rags. Paid P1,211.21 for 6 litters of mineral oil, oil filter, rags, cleanser, etc.

I personally see my car done by the mechanic, they just drained the oil and remove the oil filter. The old oil still looks clean and clear. Replace oil filter and pour in the new oil. Routine check on bolts and nuts and car wash.

Mukhang marami na naka avanza. up to now wala pa rin ako plate. got mine 1st week of november pa. 3500km na ako and very happy about the ride. btw, are there any pix of the console box with the same color as our dash board?

Hmmm. I got my unit about 3 weeks later than yours so must not expect my plates to arrive any time sooner. Am still wondering how that 1.5 model that I saw got his plates so soon!?

Finally got my silver Avanza 1.3J from Toyota Ortigas last wednesday!
So far satisfied naman ako with the drive. I've already run 45Kms all city driving w/ moderate traffic and spent 5.6L of fuel, so my FC is approximately 8Km/liter. Pwede pa bang magimprove ito?

Grats on your new ride! Nice color too! Mine is also 1.3 Red color.
FC will be improved once you drive it some more. My FC is now improved from around 7km/Li in my first full tank, to the now latest computation after my 1000km tune-up, of 10.4km/Li!! Admittedly the 1.5 guys will have better FC than us.
Had engine tune-up done and requested the service crew manager to please make adjustments in the tune-up to make my FC better in City driving conditions since roughly 85% of the time I just use the 1st-3rd gears only. Maliit lang kasi lugar namin na iniikutan, hehe. Puro liko at short distances lang travel ko...
I'm hoping that my FC will indeed improve since I really noticed the adjustments that they made. Parang hindi na masikip/pilit ang gearing kaya hindi na hirap ang engine. Sorry, can't describe really, since I'm not familiar with the technical jargon involved. Basta. Mas maganda ang takbo ng makina, mas relaxed ang hatak. Will post if ever may improvement nga sa FC.

Hi to eveyone who owns Toyota Avanza and planning to own. Just acquired 1.5G A/T Champange last Thursday from Toyota Bicutan. Sold my Vios 1.5A/T Black due to few passengers. Hope that the performance will be promising as I read lots of your posted experiences.

For those who had their 1000 km check up, can you post what the casa did?

On my avanza, they did an engine flush and put in fuel injector cleaner. Is this standard or did TQA make additional money for unnecessary services? Was not able to complain as I was in the province and it was my driver who had the car serviced. I found out a week after.

On my 1000km PMS they changed the oil and oil filter. They fixed the the 3rd row seat that doesn't lock (due to thick matting) and lighter socket that moved when I used a celphone charger (advised me to buy an adaptor because lighter socket for Avanza is smaller. I've used the same charger in a Civic '97, Liteace '96 and APV but nothing similar happened.) I paid P 2,782.06 for the filter and fully synthetic oil. Labor is free till the 5000km PMS.

mine was just drained the oil by gravity only then chnaged the oil filter and oil. mga P1600 lang nagastos ko. i don't believe in engine flush and fuel injector and I feel hindi ata standard yun. pero if you don't specifically tell the casa then they will do this. dito lang sila kumikita. my advice also is that never do engine wash kahit casa pa gagawa. my brother-in-law had engine wash sa toyota shaw, ayun nasira lahat ng bearing, alternator, idling, and compressor sabay sabay tapus sabi ng shaw baka raw nabasa ng baha. eh sila nag engine wash and before e engine wash walang problema. anyway nobody see's your engine. punas punas na lang.

Just checked my file, TQA charged me for 4 liters of oil! Avanza's manual says it only needs 3 liters. Plus engine flush and fuel injector cleaner. Naisahan ako! :nono:

Thanks for the heads-up since i'm going to have my 1000km pms dyan sa shaw din. Although baka medyo matatagalan pa since naka 480 km pa lang ako.

I'm not going to expect my FC to go down on my next full tank. Napasabak kami sa trapik kagabi going to the pyro-olympic. 4 hrs sa daan with only 12km registered sa trip meter. Buti na lang naka-avanza ako..hehehe. My 2 kids are comfortable sa likod occupying each row seats. Yun nga lang naka M/T lang ako. I missed the comfort of A/T during such situation. Me nakatabi pa ako sa daan na champagne din na avanza sa may edsa pagkalampas ng ayala tunnel around 7:30pm. Baka tsikoter din.. Marami na rin palang naka avanza.

Engine Control Unit. Ito yung nag ko-control ng fuel injected sa cylinder ng engine.

Thanks for the advice regarding engine wash. Mahilig pa naman ako sa engine detailing with my previous car. It is true that you can maintain the cleanliness of the hood area if you will wipe it regularly, at least weekly. I have done it for 2 years now.

good day mga katsikot. im also planning to purchase an avanza... just want to confirm lang kung yung FC ba ng 1.5 is better that the 1.3? meron na din ba nakakuha sa toyota commonwealth? ano kaya mga add-ons nila dun? thanks...

To all avanza 1.3 J owners, magkano total cash out nyo for 1.3J including the registration, chattel mortgage and insurance. Kapos kasi ako sa budget hanggang 100K lang kaya ko DP inclusive na doon ang lahat ng charges.

They compute from 30% downpayment, so that's P174,600. Maybe later on they can offer lower downpayment. The demand is very high since it is a new car. The dealers will take advantage of this. Pag matagal na sa market ang dami pang freebies (LTO, insurance, etc.). Ngayon lahat kailangang bayaran.

Thanks for the info. Do you need to request this to be reset when your first 1K km Check sa kasa? or they will do it even you don't ask?

How's the performance of your Avanza 1.5 is it A/T? Ano and pinaka mabilis mong takbo?

Yeah next time ako I will insist they use only 3 liters. I was able to get one liter from them when I asked why they charged me 4 liters. Sabi pa nung isang SA sa isa pang SA, "Diba parang vios din makina niyan? 4 liters kailangan?" I had to butt in na 3 liters lang with oil filter installed na. It seemed an honest mistake naman and the SA guy was apologetic pa. I saw a more senior SA guy give him a look of disappointment when my SA had to explain the mistake to him.

In my case I specifically requested if they can still make any adjustments to make my unit (1.3J model)more efficient for my way of driving which is about 85% City Driving.
They did this during my 1000Km oil change and I'm still in the process of determining whether the adjustment was for the better.
Will post results.
