September 12th, 2012 08:57 AM #1Hi Guys,
Finally I was able to have my first car na, A Toyota Altis 2002 AT 1.6 E.
Ask lang ako guys kung paano ko ma-check ung Overdrive if ng-ffailed na? Ano ba talaga ung Overdrive?
Un indicator niya umiilaw naman.
I would really appreciate your inputs guys.
Thank you in advance.

Drive it. If it does 2800-3200 at a steady 100 km/h, you're in overdrive. If it does much more, you're not.
If the OD OFF light is on continuously, then it's off. There's a button on the shifter to toggle it on or off.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If the o/d is off, your engine has a tendency to engine brake and it doesnt shift to 4th gear (hanggang 3rd lang).

Yung L = 1st gear...
2 = 2nd gear...
OD off = 3rd gear...
D = shifts automatically from 1st to 4th gear...
If you are running at D and at 80 kph, yung rpm reading should be within 2000rpm.
Now, if you switch to "OD OFF" during this instance...rpm should rev-up to around 2800rpm.
If that didnt happen...then there's something wrong with your AT.
