The last thing I've heard from the grapevine is that trees still need CO2 and not NOx.
That would be some good science project indeed.
On another note. Here's what I've found since Vinj piqued my interest with his question. Although this does not directly answer his question.
So i guess the ratio is about 1:100. For every 1-2gram/s of NOx absorbed by trees, 100grams or CO2 is removed. Parang maliit lang pala natatanggal na NOx nang puno.Studies have shown that in one urban park, tree cover removed 48 pounds of particulates, 9 pounds of nitrogen dioxide, 6 pounds of sulfur dioxide, 0.5 pounds of carbon monoxide and 100 pounds of carbon daily. It has also been noted that one sugar maple along a roadway removes 60mg cadmium, 140mg chromium, 820mg nickel and 5,200mg lead from the environment in one growing season.
But....
So parang technically same saem lang. But I'm no scientist so don't take my word for it. In the end, if you are going to blank your EGR, be sure to plant trees at least once a year (or whayever is required to negate your carbon footprint. But that's another thing). The largest part of most combustion gas is nitrogen (N2), water vapor (H2O) (except with pure-carbon fuels), and carbon dioxide (CO2) (except for fuels without carbon); these are not toxic or noxious (although carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming). A relatively small part of combustion gas is undesirable noxious or toxic substances, such as carbon monoxide (CO) from incomplete combustion, hydrocarbons (properly indicated as CxHy, but typically shown simply as "HC" on emissions-test slips) from unburnt fuel, nitrogen oxides (NOx) from excessive combustion temperatures, ozone (O3), and particulate matter (mostly soot).![]()

Oh wait, here is some data from, https://www.dieselnet.com/tech/engine_egr.php
Euro 2 karamihan nang diesel dito at .7-.97g/km pala NOx na na-eemit with EGR. Kung blanked na, ibig sabihin tataas pa dyan NOx emission level. Ang tanong eh how much nga lang. hehe
good day!
Mga sir, kung mag EGR blanking is there a possibility na babagsak during emission testing pagdating ng renewal of registration ng unit. Kasi there will be an increase of NOx emission. TIA

Just to repeat.
Hindi po tayo nagte-test ng NOx sa vehicle emissions.
But FYI, NOx (also CO iirc) is associated with respiratory illnesses and cardiovascualar ailments due to air pollution.
CO2/carbon is more on climate change.

Need your input regarding one comment i have read regarding blanking the egr of fortuner.
"Modern EGR such as ours in fortuner have two functions; 1 is to induce exhaust gas during idle-light cruise and the 2nd which is most important is to dump overboost pressure. Blaking the pipe will create alot of overboost during at X time when ever you decelerate or the engine shift it's gear. "
