bad design po ba kanyo? usually kelangan lang i-align backdoor and spray ng wd40 or apply ng grease... meron po step by step pictures sa yahoogroups natin kung paano i-adjust backdoor..
wag ka mag-alala pre, mas mabuti na siguro yung konting bad design na yan kesa sa factory defects ng crosswind about their radiator and muffler design hehe..

December 27th, 2006 03:53 AM #96Nakikidaan lang po....
I stumbled upon your forum just recently and although the thread to this one seems to be a liitle on the old side (2005) and it is now 2006 (2007 in 4 days' time), I thought I might give a simple piece of my what is on my mind.
Well, firstly, fuel consumption depends on a lot of factors - the way the driver drives, the load, whether city driving or motorway(highway) driving. All of us know that stop-start driving consumes the most fuel. Also unnecessary load on the vehicle put a strain on the engine. How many cars do you see on the road nowadays sporting roof racks and massive spoilers? If they are not needed, remove it. Not needed roof racks just adds extra drag to the the vehicle. Spoilers are not much of a help as well. Spoilers are only beneficial for sports car-- and I mean sports car as in Nascar, Formula 1 etc, high powered cars like Porshes and the like. Normal road cars only have the spoilers for aesthetic reasons only and nothing else. Really, what matters are the following to have a happy fuel-efficient driving; go easy on the throttle and the braking, always use the correct gear to the right speed and always use the highest gear possible (huwag always humaha rurut), have a well-tuned, well-serviced and well-maintained car (not forgetting the correct tire pressure), remove unnecessary objects inside and outside your car - these will only put strain on the car's engine. For vans with removable back seats, remove them if not needed. Back seats are the equivalent of two grown-up men in weight.
I think Toyota Revo and other AUV are very much overrated. Although the manufacturers would say that they are very versatile in their people-carrying capacity, their overall performance is greatly compromised. How can they justify a 1.8 or 2.0 Litre engine be able to carry 11 people in any particular instance. The car manufacturer's must be having a laugh!!! At the aforementioned car engine sizes, in the neck of the woods where I am living right now, they are only for cars which can carry a MAXIMUM of 7 people - that is almost half of what AUV are supposed to carry!! No wonder why Revo and all AUV's for that matter, all have atrocious fuel consumption efficiency.
And yeah.... Tulfo is not a journalist. He is not even a crusader. He is just a person trying to put importance to himself. He might have done something good for someone in the past but he is still living to that past glory. I don't know why The Enquirer still employ him. I read his column every now and again but not for its journalist/news content but for pure entertainment -- especially his constant "i did this.... I did that..... my friendship with the First Gentleman...according to my inside sources...."! I think it is about time he quit the game and go back to Mindanao.

December 27th, 2006 12:19 PM #97ngaoyn ko lang nabasa tong thread na to about the "defective" toyata revo hehe anyways ... what i can say is that certain ben ong is really stupid .... why go out and buy a vehicle without first researching about its fuel milage etc etc? and tama ang ibang forumers dito e ... toyota never claimed that their revo is fuel efficient etc etc we have an revo glx 1.8l oo matakaw ito sa gas pero tis very very reliable car never nagkaproblema pero yung consumption sa fuel, ganun na talga yun e tsaka nung nabili na namin tsaka namin nalaman na ganun pala consumption nya pero no regrets because now naka 100k na ata yung revo namin ok pa sulit na sulit !
beofre i read the thread kala ko pa naman anong defect yun pala fuel consumption lang ng matic na revo.... stupid ..

ako napapaiyak din sa fuel consumption ng revo namin...its a 1.8SR....matic pa
Sa huling bilang ko around 6 to 7 km lng un fuel consumption and that's in very tipid mode...light tapak lng ng gas at walang hatawan....
naiiyak na nga ko sa bagal ng takbo at bilis ng pagubos ng gas...we're planning to sell it and buy an Innova nalng...pero personally mas gusto ko looks ng Revo kesa sa Innova
btw, me bibili din kaya ng revo kahit na matic for the right price? 22k lng ang mileage...

it's really an old engine design. my mom's mitsu space gear has similar old engine with 2.4 diplacemen at A/T. sobrang lakas sa gas. mga 4.5 per liter lang. grabe.
actually konting modification lang, you'll get a whole lot more performance and the same fuel milage out of your revo.
i just used a K&N filter to improve air intake and changed the pipes on the exhaust, starting from the main muffler hanggang sa dulo to lessen restriction of the exhaust. if you'll notice napaka liit ng tail pipe but when you lift the revo you'll see that the pipes leading up to the main muffler from the engine are much bigger. tapos biglang masasakal cause liliit yung pipes. then i used to iridium plugs to improve the fuel combustion.
i have better fuel economy because i step on the gas pedal less cause it runs faster now without having to stomp on the gas. caculated for the vx200 A/T now is 7-8 km/l (city), 10-11/ (highway)
it now runs very very nicely. i've given a lot of innovas a run for their money.
Better to buy the similar-era clone starex 4x4 (not sure lang if local or imported but original lhd...
