Isn't the 2013-2016 model, the one they call "batman"?

    what i recall vaguely,
the vios 1st gen (2002-2007) is the batman model.
its front grille vaguely resembles the batman silhouette.

i do not know how the other models got their monickers.

    bakit robin?

did they just give that monicker to the original vios when the 2nd gen was released? something to differentiate it from the batman "looking" predecessor?

ang nakakatawang palayaw iyong sa 1st gen (or 2nd gen na ba iyon kasi may skx na na city dati) honda city: ipis.

Sa brake lights din yata naging basis ng names nyan.. like sa lancer na itlog at pitsa pie

All-new Toyota Vios: PH production might not start in 2023 | Autoindustriya

The real question is: when will the D92A Vios be launched here?

We can’t tell you exactly when, but we can tell you that it will likely not be in 2023. It’s not a matter of importation because the Vios isn’t an imported CBU unlike many of the nameplates in the market. It is produced at Toyota’s factory in Santa Rosa, Laguna and is a critical entry into the CARS Program. But the information we’re getting from our insiders is that Philippine production of the Toyota Vios will not commence this year.

To put it bluntly: if it isn’t being produced here, it will not be launched yet.

223 Toyota Vios now open for booking in Malaysia - RM9k-RM96k est; wireless CarPlay, rear AC vents - paultan.org

All new Vios is now on Malaysian shores! It's a bit disappointing maybe PH is the only ASEAN country that still uses the old XP150 platform since 2013. TMP should bring this latest gen from Thailand, rather to wait and upgrade their Santa Rosa assembly plant to retool for DNGA platform Vios. They can do that though. Import this new Vios first then when the PH production is up and running it's easy to switch from the local made DNGA Vios.

They had done that before. The gen 1 Vios was actually built in Thailand until the 2nd gen came along when it's being assembled in Sta. Rosa.

Here's the review of the all new 4th generation Vios in Malaysia.
223 Toyota Vios Malaysian review, priced from RM9k - paultan.org

Power comes from a 2NR-VE 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that serves up 106 PS (104 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, with drive sent to the front wheels via a CVT.
Almost same engine as the outgoing model (still available in PH and elsewhere), but a bit different engine code from NR-FE to NR-VE.

    just sharing...

our friend from Toyota PH has mentioned that they are expecting the hybrid version here this year.

matagal na daw na walang 1.5L version...

they're expecting the new Vios to be sold with the 3rd Gen (same with their current set-up with the Innova)

Say hello to the first-ever hybrid-powered Toyota Vios | TopGear PH

The Yaris Ativ/Vios HEV wades into battle with a powertrain system lifted from the Yaris Cross. That means a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine that’s then mated to a lithium-ion battery and a compact single electric motor. The result is a total system output of 109hp, while the electric motor doles out 141Nm. It’s then mated to the same transmission used in the Yaris Cross HEV, meaning an e-CVT. Claimed fuel economy is 29.4km/L.
