With the current direction of TMPC, I expect na itong bagong Vios will carry the same features ng Thai market Vios, while retaining both the 1.3L and 1.5L engines na gamit ng Vios dito. Kung may maiiba man sa features, very minimal na lang considering all of TMPC's releases starting with the Corolla Cross did not scrimp on all of the features found in other markets where Toyota vehicles are sold.

Matagal nang 1.2L ang Vios sa Thailand. Since 3rd or 4th gen Vios pa so that the Vios will be included in the eco car program of Thailand.

^hanggang kelan ba yung CARS Program?

current gen Vios is enrolled kasi. if Toyota PH cannot meet the required 200K units, they might extend the shelf life of the XP150

Toyota Shows Off Left-Hand Drive 2023 Vios, Features Carryover Powertrains | CarGuide

For the Laos market, it gets a 1.3-liter 1NR-VE engine making the same 98 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque. It also gets a carryover 5-speed manual or CVT (not Super CVT-i) gearbox. While Laos doesn’t get the 1.5-liter 2NR-VE, this lends credence to the possibility that the 2023 Vios will also carryover this engine for markets that need the extra 200-ccs of displacement such as the Philippines.

Sana yung PHDM vios will use the raize 1.0L turbo to compete with Almera.

Will the PH-spec Toyota Vios still have a 1.3-liter option? | TopGear PH

While we don’t know when the Vios will debut here, news from Saudi Arabia confirms that Toyota still has a 1.3-liter for the popular sedan. While it still uses the same block as the previous version, there are some technical improvements to enhance fuel efficiency.

Why would anyone want a weaker and more strained engine when we already have the 1.5L vios?

    errr,
we're speaking toyota vios and not bmw...
but i'm comfortable with 60s VW air-cooled, as well.

... is the vios engine that complicated, as to warrant second thoughts?

I meant the proposed 3 cylinder 1.0L turbo with the additional turbocharger, intercooler and hoses. Its contrary to the prinicples you established before, the simpler the better... Or something like that.
