Yep, that's right. You can have it bypassed by your favorite auto accessories shop, or you can do it yourself. :D

Yep, proud owner. I even gave it a name! :D Okay naman ang performance sir. I use mine every weekday for my commute to work sa Makati then back sa Laguna. Mas pagod sya actually on weekends, kasi dun talaga yung alis ng alis. Okay na okay naman po sir. :D
Matanong ko nalng, I hope you don't mind. How much po expense nyo sa gas per month sa Vios?
I mean Vios was my first choice tlga and now naguguluhan pa din ako kung Wigo ba which is accdg to my sa is ready na daw nxt week or vios which is will take us another month kasi waiting in line pa din kami.cant compare those two syempre.
Kaya research research din sir. Thanks!
22km/l sir, that's from SLEX Sta Rosa exit up to Magallanes only; I finally remembered to look at the display before I submerged myself and the car in heavy traffic. Speed between 80 to 90, then 100kph on the few times I had to overtake. This reading was from yesterday morning, 3 people in the car myself included, on 195/55/15 tires.
Back when I still had the stock rims on, I got 25km/l, up until Magallanes; it starts plummeting after that. 34500 kms on the odometer.

wait for the vios. its longer wheelbase and heavier weight give it a more comfortable, less-jarring ride.
so why do i continue putting up with mine? it's my "up yours!" answer to the annoying tricycles in my neighborhood.
"kung kaya nyong sumingit, kaya ko rin!"

Oh sorry, I thought you have a Vios now and you're planning to replace it with this. Bummer. Sorry, my bad.
Well, the Wigo is easy and fun to drive. The lack of a more prominent "nose" is useful when you need to squeeze yourself in between lanes. The manual tranny gets better fuel efficiency though, so, yea, you might want to factor that into your decision making.
pareho lang ho..
toyota makes sure the dealers do not undercut each other.
but shop around for the freebies.. you might like the freebies of one dealer over the other.
as to the installment deals... shop around.

I doubt that Dr. D. They said the same thing about Honda, and it made sense because most franchises are owned by the Ayalas and the Yuchengcos... until I got a large cash discount from an independent franchisee.

it has occured to me, that those discounts might be available everywhere, except that the ayala/yuchengco-owned casas refuse to pass them on to the buyer..
my own favorite casa.. it takes time to break down my SA's defenses and give me what is openly advertised pa nga in the broadsheets....probably thinks i don't read newspapers..
at any rate, happy hunting.
Last year, when I went to a casa to have my plates installed, the staff told me that if and when the time comes that I will get another unit, I should get it either from Toyota Makati or Toyota Pasig. He said these two are owned and operated by Toyota themselves and not a franchisee, so the prices are cheaper compared to other dealerships.
I have no idea whether this is true or not, sorry. But they're worth checking out anyway.
Good luck.
Dr. D, most probably yes, for one, they are located in Mega Manila, so the provincial dealers need to compete by giving out these discounts.
Ms Beth, I don't see the logic in a manufacturer competing with its dealers. Unless malakas talaga ang benta ni Toyota that dealers are willing to put up with unfair competition.

off tangent...
in other businesses, i notice that the real factory outlet (NOT the bargain basement "factory outlets"!) usually has a higher price than, or equal to, the distributors' .
..probably so that the manufacturer may not openly compete with its distributors.. bad for business..
