Any brand will do. As long as you meet the minimum RON (91 I think for the Wigo).

I'm pretty sure that any difference in consumption is caused by different traffic conditions, rather than the fuel itself.

I used Fuel Save for the first few weeks after we got the Wigo. Tried Nitro+ once, and never looked back. I don't recommend it for city driving though. :D

Hindi ba myth lang yang break-in? Yung last buy ko ng car nung 2013 ni hindi ko naisip ang word na break-in. Gamit lang as usual, nasa 33k kms nako wala namang problema.

Mag 2 months na yung wigo ko hindi pa sya na hard break in. Sa antipolo palang ang pinaka malayo nyang napuntahan. Huhu baka hindi sya maging powered nyan.

The loosest definition of break-in, is not to race it. I think most of us average joes drive that way for much of our lives behind the wheel.. we actually are still breaking in our cars... Even if they're already 10 years old.
Besides, today's cars are so well made, they are very forgiving.. Heh heh.

    Fuel economy... Mirage.
Long term maintenance... Too early to tell.
Value for money... Drive them both and see which is more comfortable for you, because you can't do much to improve that.
Other bells and whistles are easily upgradeable at the casa and in aftermarket stores.
What do I have? Wigo. What do I enjoy driving? Innova!

This is a bit of a trick question isn't it? :D You're asking a Wigo owner to compare his chosen car with the competition? :D

    1. Value for money - Wigo. The top of the line MT variant has ABS, airbags for the driver and front passenger, immobilizer, keyless entry and power windows and locks. It also performs great (even on the 600+ kms non-stop return trip from Ilocos to Laguna that took us 16 hours), is very spacious and comfortable. All in a package I CAN AFFORD. I honestly believe I bought the best car within my budget. If I had the money, would I get the Mirage? No. I'll get a Volkswagen Golf GTI, or a Ford Fiesta. But I don't, so there it is. :D

    2. Long term maintenance - Too early to tell, as Dr. D said. You wouldn't have problems with any car as long you religiously follow change oil and oil filter change schedules. You take good care of a car, it'll take good care of you.

    3. Fuel economy - Ah, here. When friends ask if they should get a Wigo, I always say it depends on the transmission choice. A Wigo G MT is economical, not so much for AT. As it has been pointed out in several articles, the Wigo's AT is old tech, nothing compared to the Mirage's CVT which is hands-down very economical especially in city driving conditions. But still, a couple of friends who owns a Wigo G AT are all happy with the car. They said it's fun and easy to drive. They've reached the point in car ownership where they don't care about fuel consumption anymore :D Even in our Wigo club, we hardly ever talk about our fuel consumption, unless someone new brings it up.

Kasi nga, if you love the car, it doesn't matter how many liters of gas it drinks.

Thank sa points sir. My last worry na di masagot sa ngayon is maintenance talaga. cost ng service and parts (if may mga need ireplace, etc).

Ooops. I'm sorry I'm not qualified to answer this. I didn't even consider the Mirage at all.

Just to give you an idea, I bring the car in for servicing every 5,000kms. Since the 10,000kms, the PMS has been costing me somewhere between Php 3,000 and Php 4,000. That includes services that are on top of the usual change oil and oil filter. Last month, when I brought the car in for 30,000 kms PMS, I paid Php 3,850. It includes the alignment and tire balancing that I requested since I upgraded to 15" rims and wider tires; the thing was vibrating at speeds of over 80kph. If I were to keep it simple and not ask for any other extra service, the change oil, oil filter will only cost less than Php 3,000 (I think the ballpark figure the service advisor gave me was Php 2500).

Last February, I put in an insurance claim for damages on my hood and bumper (don't ask). I was told the hood needed to be replaced, and that it had to be ordered. It took them five months. This is partly due to inefficiency in the casa and/or the insurance reps within. I found out eventually that the hood had arrived long before I stormed in there demanding for an update, it's just that not one of them called me and informed me of this fact. The manager, no doubt seeing the suppressed rage on my face, offered to prioritize the annoyingly simple repairs on my car (replace hood and MINOR scratches on the bumper) and promised to return it to me in three days instead of the ridiculous ten.

Anyway, both cars are great, no doubt. They're still cars, eh? Both still have an engine, a body, four wheels, and five doors. It's just that the Wigo fits me perfectly because, it being cheaper, leaves me some budget for upgrades. :D

Sorry for the long post; I hope I didn't bore you to death.

Hi we recently purchased Toyota Wigo G. Last night tumama kami sa gutter, sumabog ung 1 tire + nagkaron ng konting dent ung mags. I dont think na may damages naman or nabengkong ung mags pero i'll have it check. My question is may alam ba kayong nagbebenta ng champiro tires same specs used in wigo? Tumawag ako sa casa 2300 daw plus charges for the other services. Or okay lang ba na bumili ako ng other brand kahit hindi champiro pero same specs? Gagawin nalang naman namin na spare tire un so i dont know if okay lang

And if possible pwede ba ifile nalang sya sa insurance?
