Parang mas mahal ata sa pinost ko na ads from the second toyota dealer.
Tama po ba ang ginawa ko?

    Toyota Wigo 1.0E M/T: 458,000
20% DP: 71k All in Promo
    3 Years: 13,448
    4 Years: 10,636
    5 Years: 9,005

And from people's experience magkano po usually yearly insurance ng wigo na idadagdag ko sa 458000?

    1. Have you noticed that the BDO details you've provided has no downpayment or equity (see BPI computation). BDO calculator only considers the loan amount and does not include the downpayment. To get similar figures, use the 80% of the selling price/car unit price (366,400) as Loan amount in the BDO calculator. You will get 11,802.15 for 36 months which is very close to the BPI monthly. I got BDO 516,477.48 and BPI 515,284.00 for the total amount.

    2. In your second toyota dealer computation, you forgot to include the 20% DP in your total. Actual total for the dealer/in-house loan is 555,128.00 which is significantly higher compared to the bank loans above.

    3. Acceptable rate is 2.5-4% of the unit price, so I am estimating 11.5 to 18.3K depending on the insurance company and coverage. If you are a govt employee, also consider GSIS autoshield as suggested by Horsepower. Their rates are just unbelievable.

    Hope this helps.

2.) Vios is so close to Wigo pricing, why not get the better car VIOS?
No I'm not employed. We'll buy the car from remittance sent from my dad. Hindi ko type itsura ng vios. Cute ang wigo para sakin.

Thank you! I'm really terrible with math.
So masmataas pala computation sa dealer.
Anyway pumunta kami sa toyota yesterday to check what they actually have. Pag spot cash 468000 less 10000 lang for the E. Kasama daw mga usual freebies like lto registration. I will have to get my own insurance so maghahanap nalang ako ng mura.

1.) ALways buy cash whenever possible. Unless you've got a hedge fund working for you.

2.) I understand you find Wigo cute but it's got no boot and in the event of a rearend crash, your rear passengers are doomed and most likely will die of their injuries (so always put your least liked people at the back. LOL). The extra metal space cage in the Vios' boot would be a nice cushion in that event (except of course if it's a speeding bus or truck).

    3.) Happy shopping!

    Wigo G - 556k
    Vios E - 778k

222k isn't a small amount especially for Wigo buyers who are usually on a tight budget. That's already 40% of the Wigo's SRP.

Even the Vios J, which is a manual (dealbreaker for most new drivers), is over 70k more expensive, and has none of the creature features that usually entice first-time car buyers. It's bigger, yes, but it's the bells and whistles that usually draw people in.

Indeed, and that's the problem. People need to be informed of critical infos like safety (crumple zones, crash rating, ABS, etc). and fancy things they can usually do without should be secondary.

Since she's got the cash (it seems), 70k in installments is nothing (dad is an OFW). It seems she's ok with MT since she's been looking at Wigo 1.0MT so Vios MT should be ok. 1.5L vioses are insanely priced though. I'd rather get the bigger Altis at that point. She doesn't like the vios though (Maybe because of the taxi effect which actually is a plus).

I would always recommend what car your heart desires. At the end of the day, what makes you the happiest/most content is the best buy for you.

On the issue of safety though, both the Vios and Wigo got 4-star ASEAN NCAP ratings. Smaller does not always mean less safe.

Mga Kaibigan, I would like to seek for your advice. Is there a way that I can play movies while driving? With the way it is now, I can only if my handbreak is in use.

It was installed with safety in mind. The driver(you), is supposed to concentrate on driving. Distractions while your driving is similar to playing Russian roulette only this time, you're not using a revolver. You can however, by installing an ON/OFF switch in series with the parking brake reminder switch

The Wigo is average. Based on what I remember reading here in tsikot, Excellent fuel consumption goes to the Suzuki Alto and the Mitsubishi Mirage.

Bro magkakaiba since nagiiba sila ng promo from time to time depending on the tolerance of a dealer to give discounts and their sales target for the month.

My recommendation is to visit every dealer near your place, get a quotation of their best offer, then ask the other dealer if they can give you a better offer. Continue doing this until masagad mo silang lahat. Yes this is tedious and time consuming, but it could be well worth it. Bonus na rin kung hottie yung sales agent na makakausap mo.

It is. I had mine bypassed at a local auto accessories shop. I was charged 500. It can be done DIY-style, I just didn't know how and didn't bother finding out how Good luck.

Not really, no Especially sa AT. Most AT members in our club are reporting less than satisfactory fuel consumption readings. Matipid sya in happy path conditions; light traffic, minimal to no stop-and-go, and after the 10K PMS. I think it's because old tech ata yung tranny tech na nilagay nila. No VVT-i. Unlike the Mirage AT na naka-CVT.

My MT unit's one full tank is currenly at 14.7km/l. That's balikan Makati to Santa Rosa, then long idle times while crawling sa Makati traffic and waiting around for carpool buddies, then 100kph sa SLEX. On 15x6 195 wheels. I had better fuel consumption on stock mags, but, I like how this one looks so I'm willing to sacrifice a few liters for it :D

Honestly, when you love the car, it wouldn't matter how many liters it drinks.

Roughly 20K. That includes the secondhand OEM mags with tires, the full set of lugnuts I bought to replace the old ones that were incompatible, the labor fee for attaching them, and the tire balancing/wheel alignment I had done when I took it in for 30,000kms PMS.

Some difference, yes, most noticeable of which is that I get better grip when cornering and better handling. Aesthetically, obviously it looks A LOT LOT LOT better. :D

Ah, and as I mentioned the fuel consumption went up; a compromise I'm willing to make.

You switched to 15" 9th gen Altis rims right?

Parang ang mahal ata ng 20k. I changed from 16" to 18" rims with brand new tires, for only 16k all in.
