[QUOTE=jp923;2247457]Never have you tried to find out what your car can do or never have you asked to find out?

well, i have attempted to find out for myself, just how many more km my car can go after the fuel warning light goes on...
but speed? nunca. i'm not into speed..i am satisfied with the belief that my car can go much faster than the legal speed limit...

This is the new G variant stripped down version. Proof: manual trans and cloth upholstery.

Aside from the innocuous absence of the headlight washer, its really not that noticeably stripped down compared to before. While the Montero GLX is noticeably stripped down from a GLS. Externally, this Fortuner hardly looks different compared to the V variants.

PS: I don't know when did Toyota started phasing in the black dashboard, but the former gray color dash compliments the beige tones better. Too many black and dark tones are bringing in sharp contrasts in the interior.

same din pala yung interior ng hi lux with the fort

Well to each is own, huh doc? Hehe mahirap din kasi maghanap minsan ng venue to try it out. Tapos usually pag nasa open road naman tayo, kasama family so another saftey concern. Hehe

Pickups usually have stiffer suspensions than their SUV counterpart.

Ordered a matic already. I hope they have a dark grey or a lithium available by next week. Its actually okay for the price since the 1.360M still has discount.

When the first version of the facelifted forts (the same as the latest look) came out (w/o VNT), the mt 2.5 g was priced somwhere around 1.2 to 1.3 m, almost similar to this so-called "2014 model". When they revised it just a year ago, sometime siguro in June ata 'yon, they added the VNT and it was around 1.4M. Tapos sabi nung agent, wala na daw "low-end" ang fort, high-end na daw lahat. Then just over a year later, they revised it again, lowered the price, remove some features, and brand it as the 2014 model.

OTOH, I am confused why up until now, when the so-called non-VNT models were already phased out and no more "low-end" model are available, I am still seeing non-VNT models with "For Registration" plates, kakalabas lang talaga sa casa.

We own a 2013 Fortuner 2.5 G M/T with VNT white pearl. It was priced at around 1.4+ M (on a side note: ang swapang kasi nung ahente, ayaw magbigay ng discount kahit free 3 years LTO man lang and we have no choice but to get through him because it is the only dealer that is nearest to our place, masyadong mahal sa iba) and we like it naman po, the fort. And looking at the pics posted in previous posts, there is very minimal differences between the two models but the price diff is quite big. Di 'yan mapapansin ng karamihan lalo na't hindi car fanatics ang karamihan ng mga tao, kahit na 'yong mga nagmamay-ari ng mga sasakyan.

In short lang po, I just can't understand where Toyota is headed with the Fortuner. Every year they do some incremental/decremental changes to the Fort. Hopefully the "2015 model" will really be "all new".

They are doing the right thing IMO. Its never too late or bad to change strategy. But it would be better if they will spec the Fortuner head on with the montero at a competitive price also. The present fortuner G diesel a/t is i think the best value for money today although that was already the monteros specs way back 2011, except for the autoclimate with its ceiling vents.
