When Mr. Suansing was still the LTO chief, he established his reputation by personally involving his self in enforcing LTO laws on the streets. Apprehending an off-duty policeman who used "wang wang" while driving his Revo, penalizing a taxi driver for not using the meter (kontrata), and many more...

Now that he is the LTFRB chief, Mr. Suansing is intensifying his drive to limit the number of buses along EDSA (5000 units to 1000 units), especially the colorum units. Not to mention their barbaric way of driving and close-to-unsanitary conditions of their buses.

It's not surprising to hear some oppositions regarding this move, especially from Claire dela Fuente. I can still recall Ms. dela Fuente's statement years ago: " Public Utlility vehicles only comprises 5% of the total vehicles in the Metro. How can they cause traffic? Blame the private vehicles for it!" Is she stupid or something?

Ang batas ay batas! Ms. dela Fuente should shut up. Moreover, this IMBOA president has only 10 buses with no garage... contrary to her permit to operate dozens.

We strongly support your actions!

I'll even volunteer to represent him in court if these IMBOA b*stards file a case against him.

She's worse than stupid; she plays every else to be stupid.

    1. They cause traffic
    2. They cause pollution
    3. They are not roadworthy
    4. The drivers are not qualified
    5. The capacities of the are not maximized

But yes, just the thought of getting rid of all those buses really gives me a nice, warm feeling.

Well I am all for the bus reduction. Pero then again pano na kaya yung mga mawawalan ng trabaho because of this. But oh well the world is like that, if it benefits me then its the right choice!

But surely not all of them can be accomodated.

The transport industry was NEVER intended to absorb that number of workers to begin with.

By the very nature of the service, there should be only 3 or 4 operators of buses in EDSA, max. The provincial buses should have their terminals at the city or metro periphery so they wouldn't be able to ply the inter-city roads.

    I salute Alberto Suansing

To Claire De la Fuente please stop the media exposure and let the government do their job.

IMBOA has done nothing to improve the traffic situation in EDSA, when LTFRB says they need to stop the boundary/percentage system they disagree, when LTFRB says they need to reduce buses, they disagree again.

If IMBOA can't police their reckless and arrogant drivers, they should shut up and listen to LTFRB.

LTFRB deploys night teams vs reckless bus drivers
    08/28/2009 | 07:34 AM

Following a series of bus-related accidents in past weeks, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has sent out night patrol teams to crack down on reckless bus drivers.

Radio dzBB's Denevin Macaranas reported Friday that LTFRB chairman Alberto Suansing has ordered the deployment of such teams along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) where many accidents had been reported.

Suansing said the teams have been instructed to check against colorum buses or those without franchises, noting many of them ply their routes late night until early morning, the report said....
