Napansin ko dahil sa post and nagkataon dumaan ako sa QC.

If di lang ako full tank pa, papatulan ko yun. Hindi naman bulok yung station/equipment (either brand new or bagong ayos) so baka ok naman yung condition ng underground tanks nila.

Lahat ng naging sasakyan namin, iba iba ang gas/diesel over the years, never naman nagkaproblema that was caused by a particular brand of fuel. Iwas nga lang kami sa mga station na bulok na or binabaha though.

Hindi na mura jan. Price ng unleaded now 57.25. Year 2013-2016 madalas ako jan dati petron ndomingo corner p.tuazon and yung dalawa sa aurora blvd (dunkin donut balete, broadway). Naipost ko yan dito 2years ago lagi ko puri lugar na yan kasi super lapit sa akin.

Pero ngayon espana na lang ako. Ngayon nga manghihiram ako puregold aling puring card kasi less 3pesos per liter.

    Teka nga lang.

Pwede naman palang ibigay ng mas mura eh - ex. yung Unioil, max less P7, tapos pag may Puregold card, less P3 (kung saan man may discount yun).

I'm pretty certain di naman yan binibigay yang discount ng gas company na lugi sila right? (Unless yung S&R or Puregold pays the difference in price)

Why are most stations selling at such high prices then?

Probably, alam na natin sagot diyan, pero napapaisip lang ako...

For gasoline, margins are really high so there's a lot of flexibility. Diesel is a bit more compressed but there's still a bit of play.

Baguio prices are 10-12 pesos per liter higher than Rosario, La Union, but logistics costs to reach Baguio doesn't cost as much. Prices in Bamban, Tarlac are 5 pesos lower than other areas, but there's no real logistics or overhead cost advantage there.

Simply put, pricing is very arbitrary. Of course gasoline stations will try to maximize margins in the same way that Apple sells the iPhone for 75k when they could sell it for 1/5th the price.

New generic stations will usually sell at lower prices to draw in customers, but established players will just drop prices again to regain market share. It becomes a price war and everyone ends up earning less. Of course, it's good to gas up in price war areas because this is where you get the most bang for your buck.

In Manila, the lowest prices I encounter are in the Fairview area with gasoline currently at the P51/L range. I've already left the petroleum industry so I don't have access to the prices of the entire Philippines anymore, but there are places with lower prices than others for no other reason than compressed margins in that trade area.
