hi! m sorry to be on this reply. i simply need help with my suzuki apv automatic which made very loud cranky noises from the transmission. i sense it from there as the apv drastically lost significant drive power on uphills or inclines.
i do hope this forum promises aid as i have read from previous threads. can anyone please provide good leads to much needed parts and/or suppliers (new, as well as surplus) on transmission, build-up kits, and service? anywhere around east quezon city or marikina would be most appropriate. casa service and parts are very discouraging and undesirable, as most other bloggers have experienced. i hope this latter aspect of suzuki after-service aspect reaches suzuki top honchos who hopefully can do something friendlier to its patrons.

    awaiting help ...

    Hey Guys,

Finally finished changing valve seals, piston rings and necessary gaskets. When we first started it, there was white smoke. I wasnt worried because it seem normal for a newly overhauled car to do that at the start.

We made it idle for 2 hours, no hitches. after a while it began giving white smoke again. mechanic got worried, but after driving it for about a kilometer, the smoke went away and did not notice it the whole time i was driving around.

I thought of letting it idle for a few minutes while parked, then after around 20 minutes in idle, white smoke nanaman.

drove it again and the smoke went away.

any idea why its doing that? I thought when the smoke goes away yun na yun.

    APVBoy,

If its consistent, find a reputable auto shop and get a second opinion. Tell him what was done in your ride.

    Thanks Straker.

Right now there's smoke when its started in the morning, then goes away after it warms up a bit. Driven 220km so far. If after 500km change oil there's still smoke, then pa check ko ulit. might just need to complete the break in cycle for the piston rings to seat.

    Hello!

ganda na ng takbo ulit! smoke only during cold start.

Problema lang ngayon is runs 5-6km/liter. di kaya kailangan linisin ang O2 sensor or any other parts?

Normal yung white smoke sa coldstart, condensation sa tailpipe.. Busted O2s usually may CEL pero pa scan mo na rin, dami cause ang poor FC like baka hindi pa fully seated/honed ang piston and valves..

because is the least priced and within budget :-)

i will be talking to the suzuki sales person next week, what are the question usually asked?
    freebies? warranties?.. pls help

im a family person and this would be our first vehicle.

Hello there! Welcome in TSIKOT Forums

IMO, +1 to the APV GA w/ rear AC. Why? If your a family guy with kid(s), front/single AC in front is not enough.. specially on summer days, well even on midday/high noon.

For almost 6 years having our APV Type II MT, i'm gonna say honestly that it's perfect for us.
Way back 2008; the freebies we have: free tint, matting, seat cover and rain guards.

Warranty? AFAIK on Suzuki, 3 year or 100,000 kilometers (whichever comes first)

Anyway, i think there's a little bit adjustment on the price having the Rear AC but surely you'll be satisfied.

thank for the advice. papa scan ko sa suzuki...waiting for budget nalang.

It does seem like the rings havent seated yet. i tried the break in procedure, accelerate from 30 to 60 (OD off) then decelerate mga 10 times...after that idle sandali. when i revved it a bit, napundi ang spark plug sa piston #4. replaced it and ran it normally. after a few days sinubukan ko ulit break in procedure, then parked the car sa office. 8 hours later when i started it, ok pa. revved it a bit, pundi ulit, sa same piston. the plug was oil fouled. I'm beginning to think di na mag seat yung rings on that piston kasi i'm already at 400km. I already added 1 liter of oil kasi umabot na sa low level.

may usok parin pag cold start (even if not so cold), now meron na rin black droplets from the tailpipe.

My biggest fear is that i need to have to do everything all over again.

by the way, we had to use the old oil rings with new expanders kasi wala ko makita na set where all rings fit. got federal mogul pang g16B (standard). ung sa casa kasi almost 6k rings palang.

Alternator busted. Suzuki APV 2006 GLX A/T.
Sa casa kse P26,000 brand new. Sa Olympus P28k for ordering pa. Just looking for other options.
Saan kaya nakakabili ng murang alternator nito? Brand new or surplus or replacement? Or saan kaya magaling gumawa if still repairable?

Sir, ipa warranty mo na lang sa casa since may problema ang cylinder/valve #4. Yana ang dahilan kung bakit may white smoke and kung bakit nagbabawas ng oil.

    hi eman,

thank you for the suggestion sir.
the apv ga with the rear AC cost 50k more and im a bit short on the monthly payment already.. even though is 1.3k more but other family budget would be sacrificed so i need to get what i can. thank you for the info. :-)

    Wow!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I would think that they can re-wire our alternator sa mga alternator repair shops. Pwede pa nilang lakasan karga. Please keep us posted. Lam mo naming isa sa mga matatandang APV units natin hehe (just had my 155,000km PMS last weekend).

Just an FYI, our radiator costs P18k sa Olympia and casa.

So far both front and rear shocks pa lang major na napapalitan ko, last year lang. Yung replacement lang from Olympia kinuha ko, sobrang mahal kasi nung OEM. Nag O-sulee lang ako sa harap para bawas tag tag since naka 235/55/17 ako. Ngayon parang good as new pa sya.

So stay muna yung APV namin. Surprisingly, mas malaki cargo space ng Esteem compared sa APV but the wife can't drive stick shifts kaya yung Esteem ang na-let go namin.
