Is the Forester's spare tire really just the steel rimmed kind?

Yes, it also says on the oil cap and manual, i dont know if the service manager from alabang is pulling my leg, he said they have a memo from japan saying use 10w 40 here coz of the weather here, i didnt argue coz service until 10k kms was free, my next change oil will be 5w 30, im looking at royal purple, some say yehey, some say nay..

Called up Subaru BGC to schedule my 1st month service. They told me they need to change the oil and oil filter. They also said they are using Motul 5w40 synthetic oil for the FA20DIT. I asked why as the manual requires 5w30. They said it was advised by Motor Image Singapore due to the weather conditions here in the Philippines. They say it will cost me P585 per liter (5 liters required) for the Motul 5w40. I can bring my own oil but I have to pay P50 per liter for the corkage fee.

They told me they only suggest using Motul or Shell Ultra for their engines. I might have to source for some dealers who can offer me 5w30 oils for 450 or less per liter.

Subaru BGC is offering 80k discount plus free 1-year maintenance cost on all Forester models.

If you want a big discount, the Levorg 1.6L turbo wagon is offered at a 200k discount.

was planning to buy one, sobrang bitin ako sa 2.0-L and 2.0-P, if only 2.0-P has bigger engine baka bilhin ko ang 2.0-P pero since ganyan ang setup nila sa variant, no choice ako, i'll go for XT

*RichardYap - April lumabas yung facelifted Forester. The big discounts was applied to MY2015 and pre-facelifted 2016 models. Best approach would be to give your contact details to a Subaru sales agent and inform him that you will be interested on a unit when a big discount is offered. If you need the extra oomph, then go for the XT. If you just need the extra features, go for the 2.0i-P. However, the base model 2.0i-L is already loaded with features compared to other base model CUVs.

Not sure about those things, you may need to ask Subaru dealers about that.

The Forester's sunroof has an integrated cover which is the same color and material as the ceiling of the vehicle. When closed, it's the same inside like with the model with no sunroof.

Last June, Subaru was offering up to 300k discount on the MY2015 Forester XT. They also offered 350-450k discount on the MY2015 Legacy and Outback models.

The 200k discount on the Levorg is still being offered. Subaru now offers 80k discount plus 1-year free maintenance on all Forester models.

that's a big discount 300K, do you think it is worth taking the MY2015 just to get the XT for the reason of budgeting?

PS just talked with the sales rep they are all sold out na daw 2015-2016 models hmm...i wonder when will they offer big discount, sana sa christmas meron

They were all sold out when the promo was offered. Even the Legacy and Outback models were sold out. I was lucky enough to get one pre-facelift 2016 XT model back then.

I guess it's the Levorg that still has some units left in their inventory.

Just visited a Subaru dealership. They are offering up to 60K discount on the 2016 Forester iP. If you want the 2017 (which is the same except the model year), mas mababa ang discount by around half.

worth it naman, my daily commute is 8kms total...house office, office house, back again to the office after nappy time
